  • Eliminate inconsistencies and reduce channeling in your espresso shots with the latest and greatest design of the ONA Coffee Distribution Tool aka OCD: V3!

The new OCD: V3 comes with an advanced static-reducing coating, a lower centre of gravity for better stability and it's lighter than ever before! Originally designed by Sasa Sestic in the lead up to his 2015 World Barista Championship, ONA Coffee has redesigned the OCD to be the ultimate coffee distribution tool. No more finger-distributing, no more fussing over getting a perfect distribution directly from your grinder, the OCD Version 3 gently smooths out the bed of coffee in the portafilter and leaves a perfectly level surface to tamp on. All that, and it's easily adjustable for a range of dose sizes.

    • Available in Black, Silver, or Titanium Colour Finish
    • Diameter: 58.5mm (fits IMS and VST Basket)
    • Approximate Weight: 380g (100g lighter than previous models!)

    • Patented Design

Takes much of the fiddling out of distribution.

I love this tool. I have to swallow hard every time I remember the price, but it just feels so nice to use and looks great. The style is so clean and pretty, it feels heavy in the hands, and is easy to use. Once you find your desired setting, you can just twist, tamp and you're done. So much easier. It's really just a joy to use.

For my use case, I have a Breville Smart Grinder Pro. I bought it as an entry-level grinder one year ago (upgrading to a Niche Zero now), and it can grind espresso, but it clumps like crazy. Huge clumps and many of them. This was one of the problems when I was brewing; it was frequently channeling when I just went straight to tamping, and fixing that was a lot of work. Hitting the portafilter to bounce the grounds, using a toothpick/etc to break up the clumps, or shaking the grounds beforehand, it was always a lot of work. Now I just tap the portafilter with my hand, twist the Ona, and tamp, and there are rarely spurts out of my bottomless portafilter.

Love it!

Especially the name! 😄
It is an investment worth making if you want consistency in your coffees. We have the Acaia small dosing cups and scale and with the OCD, we have moved to the next level in espresso making.

MOST USEFUL tool of a barista.

Yes we all know... this is expensive, but forget the price a second and trust me once you try it a few time, you'll definitely admit it was the most useful thing you've ever bought as it's a game changer for doing espresso. With this thing there's no guess or inconsistency from a cup to another, it's just always perfect every single time! I've also bought the (BT Wedge Distribution Tool 58mm) first, and I gotta say there's pretty much equivalent, they end up doing the same job just differently so just go with the look you prefer or if you prefer heavier device, the BT is a lot heavier and cost a little less. Oh and I also first had the (OCD's Knockoff) bought online for 4.5x cheaper and while it was way better than nothing, it really did convince me to opt for the real and better version as you can definitely tell the difference in quality when set side by side. Sure you do pay for the name too but IT IS better and you can tell instantly just from feeling it in ur hand, using it, or looking at it. I won't ever make a espresso at home without this tool.
