Rose N Crantz Roasting Co

Founded in 2013 by Jamie Nichols, RnCRC is built around the concept of ethical trade, locally roasted coffee in Thunder Bay and across Northwestern Ontario. Our coffee varieties are curated on a seasonal basis and imported from a wide variety of global coffee producers and farms. We roast in small batches that are carefully tended to achieve the highest quality, freshly roasted coffee beans for you to enjoy at home, work, and on the go.

      Our Values

The core value at Rose N Crantz Roasting Co. is that coffee should be an enjoyable experience that brightens your day and brings people together. Part of that experience is in knowing exactly where your coffee comes from - for this reason we include the names and locations of all single origin farms and/or co-ops on our labels. Another important element is the roast date, not to be confused with a best before or expiry date. Roasted coffee beans are best if used within 3 - 4 weeks of roasting. After that point the flavours will diminish and the coffee will become flat and dull. Store it in the bag or container it comes in (on the counter, not the fridge or freezer).

      Community Involvement

Rose N Crantz Roasting Co. is committed to supporting the future research and agricultural developments related to coffee production. We are a contributor to World Coffee Research, an organization whose mission is to "grow, protect, and enhance supplies of quality coffee while improving the livelihoods of the families who produce it". This commitment also leads us to regularly support the local efforts of Roots to Harvest, EcoSuperior, Good Food Box, and other organizations. We are proud to be a part of the local food movement in Thunder Bay. We can be found each week at the Thunder Bay Country Market and would love to meet you and have a chat about all things coffee!

      Greening Initiatives

We have recently begun a program where used coffee bags can be sent away for recycling. Please bring your bags back to SleepyG each week or to our booth at the Thunder Bay Market and we will send them away to be properly recycled.

      THANK YOU!

Thank you so much for supporting your local farm AND supporting another local business at the same time!
