Customers praised this espresso's unique flavor profile with distinctive cardamom, pistachio, and vanilla cake notes. Many called it "one of the best" they've tried, exceptional in milk drinks. However, some found it challenging to dial in on home equipment, with reports of inconsistent extractions. A few noted the premium price point and questioned the co-fermentation process transparency.

Top Tier Showcase of Dak

I’ve had this one a number of times now and keep coming back to it. I like to alternate this one with one of the fruitier roasts (I.e. The Alchemist or Jazz Fruits) and think it makes a nice complement to those. It’s sweet with a little nuttiness, but doesn’t generally have the acidity of the fruitier ones. I find that I like this one better when it’s had the longer rest times, as the box typically recommends. Highly recommended

Very very nice beans if you are into milk coffee, great through espressos. Quite consistent for how light the roast is.

I used to love this

I used to love this but since I changed my machine (Rocket) I can’t seem to dial it in properly. Still got the taste though.

It's popular for a reason!

There’s a reason this is a top seller. It’s a really unique coffee that stands out right away. The aftertaste is strong in a good way, with a cake-like sweetness lingering after you finish your sip.

Sweet and Creamy Pistachio

So good in milk, the pistachio note really comes through and it tastes like a treat.

I don't know who is pulling this successfully

I don't know who is pulling this successfully at home or what their set up is. While I love this as a filter brew it has been impossible to dial-in at home on a BDB and commercial Compak grinder. Have been making espresso based drinks for over a decade and this joins infamously difficult Intelligentsia Black Cat as the two I simply cannot dial in. Regardless of grind, overdosing, playing with the preinfusion in just wants to run as a near turbo shot.

Cake in a cup!

This is my first batch of Milky Cake; and I'll preface with saying that it definitely lives up to the hype around it! These beans are incredibly fragrant and sweet. You can really taste the pistachio and cardamom. However, this one was a TOUGH dial-in for espresso with my entry-level equipment. No matter how finely I ground, these beans would just not build up enough pressure, and, when ground too finely-- would quickly lose that pistachio and honey sweetness, taking on a somewhat generic acidic flavor. I ended up using the last half of the bag in a V60 brew instead, which worked quite well despite being roasted for espresso.

Overall, these beans are extremely aromatic and flavorful and make for a nice change of pace, but the flavour does get a bit overwhelming after a couple brews in a row! I would absolutely order again though, whenever I feel like I want something a bit more interesting in my rotation.
