Ethiopian anaerobic natural coffee praised for unique purple fruit flavors. Customers said it tastes like "huckleberries," "grape-y," and "berries and cream" with a smooth, balanced profile. Huckleberry

This is one of the more unique Ethiopian anaerobic naturals I have encountered in recent times. DAK notes purple fruits, purple florals, and wild berries; hence the "Purple Rain" name. Maybe I'm being influenced too much by the description but the flavor to me is more toward the purple end of the spectrum than the typical red fruits or blueberries you get from Ethiopian naturals and Ethiopian anaerobic naturals. Many of the hiking trails around where I live are lined with huckleberry bushes. Toward the end of the summer when the fruit is ripe you can gorge yourself on huckleberries as you walk. These beans have a similar flavor to a ripe huckleberry but with no tartness. There is a mild hint of funk on the backend. Unique but not too wild; just pleasant and fruity.

Shades of berry blues!! This might be one of if not the best coffee i've had from Dak. The fruity and juicy notes punch you in the mouth in the best way! I hope this sticks around for a while. It makes an incredible iced pour over too.

Sweet and clean with a slight lactic quality. Tastes like berries and cream. Soft on the palate with really balanced sweetness and acidity. Picking up florals as it cools.
