Instant coffee has come a long way, and so has instant decaf. I very much appreciate that there are single origin offerings now. The main drawback is that, like any coffee recipe you’d hone with whole beans that you grind yourself, it does take quite a lot of fiddling to get the right temperature and water-to-coffee ratio. More than they would have you believe on the label. And by the time you figure it out, your expensive box of instant decaf packets is empty.
