Rosso - Daydream

High hopes for this coffee as i need a new fruit blend. Excited to try and will update with notes

I really want a simple morning coffee that was balanced and well rounded. Unfortunately, this just didn't quite hit the right notes being slightly underwhelming and just not delivering the notes I wanted. I found it quite thin and flat despite fiddling with my brewing methods to try and boost the body and flavours of the cup. By no means bad but just didn't reach the usual Rosso standard for me.

Day tripper was a favorite blend of mine for years. Rosso managed to keep it incredibly consistent for a long time, but this most recent batch doesn't hit the same mark in my opinion. It's good, but not great. The bright and fruity notes and the strong but pleasant acidic finish have been replaced with a very mild and moderately sweet medium roast with no real discernible layers in the flavor or aroma. It's still a nice coffee, but not what Ive grown to expect from this formerly amazing blend.

This is one that I'll keep buying, but only because I hope the next batch is more akin to the batches of the past.

Firstly, my recent experience at Eight Ounce was nothing but exceptional. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful…especially for a coffee newbie like me.

This particular bean was recommended to me by one of their employees - and to his credit, it tastes exactly like the label reads. However, it doesn’t taste anything like what I was asking for - hence the conflict. Great service. Ended up with a coffee I don’t really like.

I wanted a light roast coffee similar to a “Starbucks Blonde” (don’t come for me, I like what I like). While this is a light roast, it’s a far cry from the blonde roast I was hoping for. It is however, exactly what’s written on the bag. So any disappointment rests solely on me.

Perhaps this one will taste a little better with some Baileys on a lazy Saturday morning?! I’ll give that a go, otherwise this one definitely isn’t for me.
