High-Density Cotton
KINTO FUTO's High-Density Cotton begins in Hamamatsu, Japan, on traditional shuttle looms: weaving machines that use a boat-shaped shuttle to slowly carry the yarn back and forth. It's a technique that creates a wonderfully distinctive texture that's soft, lightweight, and firm. While there were once over 1,600 weaving houses operating on shuttle looms in the Enshu region, all but 40 remain. These select few, along with the trained artisans working within them, keep the tradition alive today.
