Tasting Notes: Lemonade, Juicy Citrus, Grapefruit

This is the third feature of José Martinez’s coffee by September, and it continues to impress with its juicy Pink Bourbon variety. Grown in Huila, Colombia, this washed coffee offers a sweet, cotton candy-like flavour with notes of blood orange, peppercorn, and a grapefruit finish. José and his wife Francy manage 10 hectares, cultivating varieties like Pink Bourbon, Caturra, Gesha, and Tabi. This coffee has a light body, clean profile, and a sweet, lingering finish

Another juicy cup from September

Nice and light roast, fruity and citrusy cup, good extraction with my V60 and 94 degree c water.

Amazing stuff - makes a good iced coffee!

Both iced or hot with this bean are great. As an iced coffee especially it is refreshing and lemonadey.

What a coffee

This roast had me at the first sip.
Floral, dynamic, and gently sweet—it’s like the coffee equivalent of a perfect song that hits all the right notes. Each cup felt like a little moment of joy, unfolding with layers of flavor that kept me coming back for more. I actually found myself slowing down just to savor it a bit longer.

I only wish it could last forever… but of course, all good things must come to an end (until my next order!). This roast is officially on my love list—and it’s not going anywhere.

Love a Pink Burbon, this one has unique tasting notes that are a hit. Fruity and citrus forward with a bit of spice.

Fruity, low acidity, but not very surprising overall
