  The C40 Lab Series TIGERSHARK® Hand Grinder was designed to push the limits of coffee grinding far beyond the scope of filter or espresso.

  Comandante founder, Bernde Braune, imagined the capabilities of a burr set with unique geometry. One that could be engineered not to crush, but slice and refine even the toughest coffee beans with incredible accuracy.

  From this vision, the TIGERSHARK® Burrs were born and incorporated into Comandante's Lab Series: a collection of robust and highly durable manual grinders. Each one is designed with a special burr set (TIGERSHARK®, NITRO BLADE®, and HAMMERHEAD®) so you can experiment, explore, and discover the flavours that best suit you.

  About TIGERSHARK® Burrs
  Because lightly roasted coffee beans have a higher density and less brittleness compared to medium or dark roasts, it's hard for traditional burr geometries to produce good and consistent grind results.
  Comandante's TIGERSHARK® Burrs are equipped with a unique dual-row blade system, which slices through the densest, lightest coffee beans without compromising grind uniformity. As a bonus, you can enjoy buttery smooth rotation of the handle.
  Crafted from Comandante's custom, ultra-durable NITRO REX® Steel, these burrs are built to handle more than just coffee; use the TIGERSHARK® hand coffee grinder for tough grains like green spelt and rye. For whatever you need, these mighty burrs can likely rise to the challenge.

  NITRO REX® Steel is manufactured in the German Alpines, a centuries-old hub of craftsmanship and innovation.
  As the constituting material of the TIGERSHARK® burr set, NITRO REX® forms the centrepiece of Comandante Lab Series Grinders. The steel is developed to offer exceptional corrosion and wear-and-tear resistance. Also, NITRO REX® is razor-sharp and completely washable, so you can rinse without the stress.
