Ethica - Kanzu: Natural
COF-EK-0170Nestled among the lush, volcanic hills of the Nyamasheke district, Kanzu Washing Station benefits from a unique misty microclimate created by the neighboring Nyungwe National Forest. This high-altitude environment, overlooking Lake Kivu, slows cherry maturation, making Kanzu one of the latest harvests in Rwanda. While the station is a titan of quality for washed process coffees, this natural lot showcases the intense sweetness and fruit-forward potential of the region's Red Bourbon variety. Supported by a community of over 535 farmers, the result is a "fruit bomb" of a cup, lead by deep notes of red plum and strawberry jam, balanced by the refined, herbal clarity of rooibos tea.
