FELLOW Glassware Safety and Use Guide

felow fello fellow carafe fellow server

This double-wall glass carafe offers excellent heat retention and an attractive minimalist design. Customers praised its capacity for 2+ cups and compatibility with pour-over systems. However, some noted concerns: the narrow neck makes hand-washing difficult, the spout can drip, and the glass can feel slippery or delicate to handle.

Excellent mid-size carafe if you don't mind the height

I love glass and ceramic for coffee, because everything else tends to attract sticky coffee oils that go rancid and affect flavour. Glass and ceramic are the easiest to clean. They are also the easiest to break, but that's a tradeoff I accept.

Double-walled glass insulates far better than regular borosilicate glass, although still not nearly as well as a steel thermos-type construction. Warm it with hot water before brewing, and keep the lid on while serving.

The Hario pourover filter holder fits very nicely on top of this carafe. It has a wide, stable base. However it is fairly tall, so you may find that uncomfortable with pourover if you're short or your counter is tall.

The neck is narrow, which creates a problem for me when cleaning as my hand won't fit through. Happily my wife's hand fits, so I can leave the cleaning to her. Otherwise you would be stuck using a brush.

The lid is thick silicone with a cutout for pouring. I don't think they offer replacements so hopefully it's durable.

This carafe holds enough coffee for two people. I measured 745ml when filled right to the maximum. They do make a half-size carafe, but it isn't double-walled so you miss the insulating properties.

Overall, a very good carafe. If the neck was a little wider for ease of cleaning, it would get the full 5 stars.

Very nice carafe

Another great product from Fellow. The dots give you a good gauge of the volume and it has a nice weight in the hand.

Really, I just love how it looks. I usually just make one cup of pour over so I always make sure to serve water in it just to use it more.

Really great Carafe

This is a really nice looking carafe! Especially if you have the Stagg glasses, they look nice together as a set. It was much larger than expected and is great for multiple cups. If you have furry pets, the silicone lid really helps keep the fur out of my coffee while I'm taking my time enjoying the glass.

Great when making V60 for two

Great when making pour over coffee for two, especially if you have different morning routines/drink at different times (or if you're making for yourself and want to have extra coffee available for later!).

Love it but you have to baby it

I love the Stagg pourover system! This is my 3rd glass carafe just because I use this everyday so the chances of it breaking is pretty high. Obviously, the only complaint is it’s delicate to wash.

Great carafe

It looks great next to my fellow stagg glasses. It's the perfect size for the two of us, the lid helps keep the coffee warm.

Great Carafe for Pourovers

Its very light weight and perfect for those few cups you want to make in the morning. The double walled glass is a step up from the old Hario I started with. My only problem with it sometimes is that it feels like it will slip but this is more an ergonomics issue as I have small hands.

Does its job; hard to hold

Does exactly what it's intended to do: keeps the coffee warm and looks great. As noted elsewhere, it's a handful: I'm a man, 6' tall, long fingers and I wouldn't want it any larger. My wife needs 2 hands to pour it, which is awkward and inelegant. Also important to recognize is there is no lip or bump to hold it up. If your hands are slippery, it will slip right out and you will drop it.

Enhancing Your Pour-Over Game

It keeps my brew at that sweet spot of warmth. If you're serious about your coffee, this is the one to get. It's a must-have for anyone who appreciates a good cup

Works Great

I love this carafe. It looks great next to my fellow stagg glasses and it keeps my coffee hot longer than I expected... long enough for me to finish a cup and have another and I drink my coffee pretty slow. Also, fits my V60 switch perfectly. My only wish is that the spout poured a little more smoothly.

Cover

I found that the cover caused the carafe to drip until I started to press on it as I poured. This stopped the dribbling. Great looking though.

Nice addition

This carafe is quite nice, both functionally and aesthetically.

Beginning with the latter, the carafe and matching glasses (which I have) are reminiscent of something out of my high school chemistry class. Opinions will vary on the minimalist industrial look, but I quite like it.

Turning to function, the carafe functions reasonably well in terms of heat retention. What I’m not crazy about is the fact that the spout drips after every pour. This ought to have been a pretty straightforward design objective. No bueno.

Also, no fault of Fellow, but the plastic Clever sits precariously atop the decanter. It doesn’t fit well, so I need to hold the Clever throughout the brew process.

Would I buy again? You bet. This decanter, together with the matching glasses, is a nice addition to any home barista’s kit.

Looks fantastic

I use this for weekend mornings when I want to relax and sip on a pourover all morning, and as well as keeping it warm for a long time, it's a beautiful object that makes me happy to use.
The silicone lid fits nicely and is easy to remove.

Great Upgrade to Your Average Carafe

I have been a classic Hario carafe guy for years, but their glass is pretty thin, not particularly insulated, and prone to breaking... (or I am just a klutz). This has so far been a nice step up from my previous carafes. The heat retention is great, the glass feels heavy, the lid is functional, and because it has no plastic collaring, it is easy to clean. The pictures don't really show this, but it is fairly stout, it doesn't feel too tall on my scale or on my table. The stoutness does make the neck fairly large to grab.

Perf.

Great. Fits the wood Origami stand comfortably. (The opening diameter is just under 3”, I couldn’t find this info anywhere online). I am 5’9” and it’s not too tall on counter height on a Acaia Pearl + Origami. I’d say if you’re any shorter you might struggle a bit to pour.

Great fast 8oz service as always.

Happy customer

I've had this for a few weeks now and so far so good! It was a little smaller than I expected. But regardless, it's sturdy and looks great!

Nice Carafe

After purchasing it, the size of it was a bit larger than what i had originally expected, however, it is a beautiful piece of equipment.

Nice decanter

I like this product. I wish the manufacturer would make it clearly graduated like a chemistry lab Erlenmyer flask!

Classy and stylish.

Fast delivery from 8ounce as always. The heat retention alone is worth investing in this when comparing to a chemex or Hario Carafe. And the coffee just taste better.

If you have a X/XF dripper this is a must have

Did a lot of research about this server, what was bothering me is its size. I thought it could be super tall with my Acaia pearl s scale underneath and the XF dripper on top of it, but it turns out not that bad, the double-wall design definitely keeps the coffee warm while not too hot to grab with your hands and swirl the coffee without the risk of spiling it. I think fellow designed this server with legit reasons behind it. overall well-designed server, if you are in the Fellow Stagg ecosystem already then it's a must in my opinion, not only it fits the aesthetics with the rest of your fellow products on your coffee bar but also it's quite practical.

Best carafe yet

This carafe is perfect! I thought it would be too small but it was much larger than expected. Mt daily V60 is 500g of water in, and this leaves lots of room for swirling. I can comfortable brew 700g into the carafe. The design also makes it so that gripping the carafe is both comfortable and secure. I thought that the lack of handle would be a concern but it is not. It is very durable but not too heavy. I do find that with the lid on sometimes pouring can cause splashing, but without the lid it is perfect and this is usually only when I have a large amount of liquid. It keeps the coffee very warm, especially with the lid, for a significant amount of time (I'd say a couple hours at serving temp or above). All in all much more than I was expecting and the price ended up being worth it once I started using it!

Love brewing into this.

Once I got the fellow tasting glasses I knew I had to have the matching carafe. Definitely a step up from brewing into a big mason jar.
