COF-OX-0099Korma Kontoma is a flagship washed coffee from the Murago Kebele in the high-altitude Bensa district of Sidama. The washing station, managed by Asefa Dukamo Korma, sits at a staggering 2,100 to 2,300 meters above sea level, benefiting from a cool highland climate and nutrient-rich volcanic soil. The name "Kontoma" is an ancient Sidama word for "accumulation," once marking a gathering place for hunters. Today, it serves as a central hub for hundreds of smallholder farmers who deliver indigenous landrace cherries to be processed with extreme precision. The coffee undergoes a 72-hour fermentation in clean water to ensure maximum clarity, resulting in an elegant, tea-like cup with a bright citrus acidity and deep, fruited sweetness.
