BE CAREFUL. I strongly advice NOT TO BUY Peak Water Filter. They have nice website but very poor filter performance. After one day of use it turned my water into bad aroma and bad taste. I reported the problem to the company and they replied after a long delay with the following: "We have had customers report a chemical like aroma before. It is caused by the interaction of the resins extracting minerals from the water, and these aromas then get captured in the top chamber. We recommend simply opening the lid up for 10 minutes and this dissipates. Typically, that doesn't then transfer to the filtered water." I followed their advice but of course it didn't helped at all. I'm in process of asking for a refund. But heard from other clients attempts to contact the company with no response.

The filter that it came with leaks lots of resin beads. It seems like the company has put lots of thought into the design, but if the execution is poor then it's all for naught. I also worry somewhat about the polymer beads introducing more microplastics into the water.

Exactly as advertised: excellent water filter for coffee. Makes a noticeable difference to water taste and hardness.

As others mentioned, the jug itself is pretty low quality. Would expect better material and tolerances, but not a priority.

I’ve had this water filter jug for a couple of months and now and so far, I have nothing bad to say about it. It looks and feels a bit flimsy and doesn’t easily fit in the fridge but it does job. As for the coffee taste, I did not feel that there was a noticeable difference between Peak and my old Brita but it did slightly taste better and hopefully, I won’t need to descale my espresso machine.

I bought this the same time I bought my Breville Dual Boiler. As others have noted, the fit and finish is along the lines of a pre-Cold War Russian manufactured plastic pail. Okay, not that bad, but the clunkiness of the refill lid is nothing short of confounding. I am afraid I am going to snap it every time I open it. Whatever. If it saves my Breville Dual Boiler from scaling death, I shall worship this product for time immemorial, warts and all.

This water filter works well. I like the new transparent charcoal look. Price is the biggest issue: the price is not competitive with other options.

I dont find the nose as annoying as others and find it provides protection against dust and other in air contaminants. The only thing I find annoying is that it seems that we cannot recycle the filters yet, through them, but that is very much a nit pic. The actual filter itself works really well, and I notice a difference in taste in my coffee with just mild adjustments in the Guage.
It's worth really playing into if your a curious coffee maker but don't want to go full reverse osmosis.

On a positive note, the water from this jug is really good. There is a huge difference compared to tap water and a noticeable difference from my Brita filter. If you are a person who only cares about the end product, then this delivers.

But as others have noted, there are a lot of areas for design improvement. The texture of the plastic seems durable so far, but definitely not a pleasant feeling, which I always notice while using. There are a lot of areas where plastic is attached together where the gap is uncomfortable and can pinch you. The way the filter holder attaches to the water tank and the lid attaches to the top usually leaves a gap, which is unsightly and lets water leak from the tank if still slightly full. The lid is functional and will not open accidentally, but the clicking mechanism makes me feel uncomfortable in a way I never expected. It does not always align properly and that is a problem. I don't think I will break it while opening, but it is a worry. The ergonomics on the handle could have used a revision as well. It is okay, but not great. I like the feeling and functionality of my $20 Brita pitcher better in several of these ways. For a pitcher costing 88 CAD + tax at time of buying, there is room to grow.

The filter replacements are also quite expensive. I can tolerate this, as the water is good, but that is another place for improvement. It makes third-wave water seem less overpriced by comparison.

I am glad that I read reviews beforehand to temper my expectations. I was expecting most of these issues. I am hopeful that these problems can be resolved in future iterations, as at this price point, Peak Water could release a really solid product in the future.

I ordered this jug alongside with ThirdWave Water, hoping to have both options on water available at home. In short, once you dial-ed in the right bypass setting, the water jug works almost as well as the ThirdWave water. The dial-in process could take a few litres of water (or a few weeks if you don't drink much coffee), as the filter itself needs some flush and your palate needs to adjust to the new water as well. So be patient when you get started using it. As the reference, my tap water is: Total Alkalinity=90ppm, Total Hardness=140ppm, pH is around upper 7 and lower 8, Peak Water Test Stripe darker than 120. My current setting is between 4-4.1 for lightly-roasted Ethiopian/Colombian coffees. For green tea, use bypass setting 5 for softest possible water.

Directions written well and understandable. I love that there is a water test strip to zero in on your water quality.
The top lid does not fit well (poor fit and finish) the jug is manufactured a little too tall for most fridge configurations. The handle is too short and the ergonomics of the handle does not balance the jug out properly when full. Sadly our coffee quality taste does not taste any better but no worse. The jug itself looks stylish and I love that you can dial it into your water quality but I did not order this jug for it’s stylish design. Sadly I would have to give this a fail. Maybe over time you might find that your coffee maker will suffer less from hard water but that is a year in the future “to be determined” I think ultimately a Brita filter jug will have the same results as this jug.

The filter has quality issues. I got 4 filters and two of them leaked "beads".

Also, the pitcher provides a terrible user experience. Changing the filter is a pain. The components are really tights, you don't notice it at first but using cold water it's almost impossible to adjust the settings of the pitcher.
The only way I found to solve this was letting it rest at room temperature which defies the purpose.
The taste was awesome for coffee but it's too much of a hassle. I will get back to another pitcher.

The quality issue of the filter with the hi filter price was the nail in the coffin. The idea is great but the execution is lacking.

The components of the jug do not fit all well together, however, the filter is great.

As others have pointed out, the jug isn't the greatest. The plastic is thin and flimsy, and the lid doesn't fit well over the top (or at least in my case it doesn't). These issues definitely need to be fixed in future iterations of this jug.

HOWEVER, the reason we have all been pulled toward Peak Water is not the overall aesthetics or design of the jug, but the filtration system. On this front, Peak Water has nailed it out of the park. I noticed an immediate improvement in taste from the very first cup. If you're on the fence about this product -- don't be. I highly recommend it!

I really like the jug , water seams to taste better . Hopefully it stops scaling as well as my BWT water jug does.
It’s fit and finish aren’t the greatest , but I must say I actually do like the look and adjustability of the jug .

I love my new water jug. Water tastes great. Easy to fill. Fits perfectly in my fridge door. I’m not crazy how it pours. You have to be slow and gentle when you are pouring or you will get a lot of water gushing out. Other than that, I really recommend this product.

I haven't used the water for brewing yet, and perhaps it is amazing, but the design falls short. The jug is very tall and doesn't fit well in either of my fridges. The plastic feels very brittle and flimsy. The color is unattractive and you can't see how much water is in the container. Since there was such a delay in getting this launched, I bought a BWT filtering pitcher which is clear, less awkward and simpler. I am underwhelmed with the aesthetics, the tricky lining up this and that to get the filter in and the top on, as well as the day to day usability. It is filled and in a fridge, but I don't use it because it feels like water will tip and slosh all over if I use it.

I have known for a long time that I needed to start paying attention to my water if I wanted my coffee to improve but the option of using water bottles wasn't appealing because of the waste and built-in filtering options were prohibitively expensive. When I first heard about the Peak Water filter I knew that it would strike the balance of simplicity, cost, and effectiveness that I was looking for and it certainly has. Full marks for the filter - filters very quickly and gives excellent tasting water regardless of where you live. The jug has a nice design but feels flimsy, I also wish that there was a clear section to know how full it is so I can stop overfilling. I imagine that the quality of the manufacturing will continue to improve as I have a first run of the device.

I really like the peak water filter. It works well, I'm getting good results from the water and the coffee. However, the design of the plastic parts made it so that the pieces dont fit together well. The top doesn't fit properly over the jug and it was really hard to get all the pieces aligned. I was afraid I was going to break something because the plastic was flimsy feeling.

Altogether I would still have bought it, it just needs some more work in the manufacturing.
