Well-made espresso distribution tool that improves shot consistency and workflow. Customers said it's "fun to use" with minimal retention. However, some noted it's "high maintenance," requires careful handling to avoid spills, and static causes grounds to stick. Price is a common concern, with many feeling it's overpriced despite excellent quality.

well made but high maintenance

well made but high maintenance. if you touch the top of the funnel a bit, your entire coffee grounds get dumped out the bottom. not something you can use while half awake. fine grounds do stick to the lid, the sides so now you have 2 extra pieces to clean.

Pricey but fun to use

Pricey but fun to use. Once you get the hang of it this is fun to use and anecdotally I feel like there has been less channeling on the shots where I used this over my regular WDT

Worth it!

This thing pricy but if you are already this much into the rabbit hole I'd say it's 100% worth it!

First of all, Eight Ounce staff are all top tier with helping out customers and lightning speed response times and deliveries too. Weber Blind Shaker is exactly what anyone would expect from the brand.

Similar to many other Weber products, it's a joy to use. Looking great on my Lagom 01.

Nice, but overpriced.

A common theme with Weber, good but overpriced...

Ergonomics takes a bit of getting used to

It’s fairly well made and finish is nice but it could have been built more precisely and the ergonomics takes some getting used to. I’ve accidentally dumped my grinds out while shaking at least once because I didn’t have enough pressure on the top lid. The removable base is also ever so slightly too thick so when it’s sitting on a flat surface, the base lifts up a bit.

Great quality but so much static. I think about .1g is left is stuck to the sides every time.

No more wdt!

Give it a shake and into the basket the coffee goes. Higher % extractions and no more wdt (okay maybe a little to get the top perfect before tamping).

Great shaker but go with black

There's no argument on the quality of Weber's shaker. However, I recommend going with the black color because silver makes the remaining grounds very apparent on the surface, and doesn't look great IMO.

Don't go with knockoffs

There's a reason why Weber's shaker is a few times more expensive than cheap knockoffs. Almost no grounds stick to the inner side, which is a dealbreaker with other shakers.

Don't wash!

I ruined the look of my shaker by washing it with espresso detergent. Lesson learned I guess. Otherwise, I am still not sure if it is better than WDT.

Workflow Improvement

I have been using the blind shaker for a few weeks now. I really enjoy it. It has improved my workflow. Especially for espresso but even for pour over.
I have pretty much quit using WDT and wiping the shaker out is a breeze.
I do recommend getting a taller funnel for more benefit when dosing into portafilter.
The magnet in base does not work well for the Timemore Sculptor but a simple base solves the issue.
The retention has remained very low. It does take some time to get used to. Weber’s newer video on how to use works very well.

Fantastic extractions

This is exactly how Lance made it seem in the videos and worth the wait to get it back in stock. Great build quality, easy to clean with a small brush, and it really does feel like the coffee particles get evened-out through the shaking. Now all I need is a stand for it to sit closer to my grinder chute. Free shipping was fast and trackable--Great service from Eight Ounce.

Definitely improved my shot consistency

Using the blind shaker + some light WDT has improved my shot consistency compared to using only WDT. Also the materials and finish on this shaker feel more substantial than some of the cheaper options out there.

Decent but no significant difference to WDT

I am just getting used to using it - so have some more fine tuning to do! The distribution was effective, however getting it evenly into my portafilter was a bit of a challenge (i do not use a levelling tool) so I still needed to WDT a bit to get it even. I am hoping it will get better as my technique improves, there was some good tutorials on youtube but there seems to be a sweet spot with not shaking too much.

Just ordered before the trend

Luckily ordered this piece of gear before the YouTube reviews came in. I have a Weber HG-1 and got this as a catch cup. It does well, nothing incredible. I am a little frustrated that coffee is already sticking to some parts of the interior. I thought that a better product would ensure that would not happen. Oh well.

Nice build and quality of materials

As good as you could likely hope for with this design of shaker. Interior is adequately slick to avoid caking (though some coffee will still stick behind, benefiting from a brush out). Still a bit pricey for what it offers.
