Onyx - Long Miles Lunar Station

This "out-of-this-world" offering marks a significant expansion for the Long Miles Coffee Project, bringing the expertise they honed in Burundi to the rugged Rwenzori Mountains of Uganda. Working in collaboration with local producers, the Long Miles team has established the Lunar Station to apply meticulous processing standards to a region often overlooked by specialty roasters. This lot features the iconic SL28 variety—a Kenyan favorite known for its deep roots and drought resistance—grown at a high altitude of 1,950 meters. Processed as a natural, the cherries are slowly dried on raised beds, allowing the seeds to absorb complex sugars and fruit acids from the surrounding pulp. The result is a vibrant and expressive cup that balances delicate floral notes of rose with a tart cranberry brightness and a smooth, chocolatey finish.
