Friedhats - Gabriel Castano Espresso

Gabriel Castano is a man devoted to Pink Bourbon. Known in southern Huila as the Godfather of Pink Bourbon, he shared his knowledge and starters with peers and fellow farmers across the landscape. Across his 2 hectare farm, La Granada, he has 8000 trees sown, and his 6 children have all followed in his footsteps to become coffee farmers. Sitting at 1850 masl on prime soil for coffee cultivation, La Granada has been Castano’s life work. Now Castano is getting older, he can no longer drink coffee but says he wouldn’t trade lives with anyone. And for this we are grateful, as this washed lot is indicative of what makes a simple washed Colombian coffee so good. Smooth and creamy with notes of almond, cranberry, and cookie. A life's work pays off.
