The importers have emphasized their longstanding relationships with women farm owners like Ana Maria Ortega and Paty Perez, highlighting their strength and resilience in leadership roles within the industry. Women play a significant role in coffee production across Guatemala, comprising the majority of the labor force from harvesting to export, despite facing challenges such as limited access and discrimination. As part of an initiative to support women producers, the coffee blend named ELLA showcases the stories and contributions of these powerful women, with a focus on diversifying sourcing and empowering more female-led farms through long-term partnerships.
