Tasting Notes: Approachable, chocolatey, nutty, low acidity

Phil & Sebastian select sweet single-origin coffees for R1 Standard that are approachable, chocolatey, nutty, and with lower acidity. These are what you would expect from a classic coffee, but elevated. Look for offerings from Costa Rica, Honduras, and Guatemala (to name a few).

Better than most with similar notes

This particular coffee is a little confusing as to why it is always consistently better than practically any other roast with similar tasting notes. I don’t know why, but it always seems to be the best tasting “normal” coffee every time I make it.

A great go-to coffee

A great blend, that almost all coffee drinkers would enjoy (good for family gatherings, etc.).

Great Everyday Coffee

While not adventurous or exciting, the R1 standard has quickly become our default brew most mornings. Highly recommended for its nice, clean taste.

Where has this been my whole life! Best value and taste. Approachable for everyone and enjoyable by both avg coffee drinkers AND snobs.

Great stuff

Loved this coffee, even as i'm new in brewing i was able to cup tow tasty cups of coffee thru a moka pot or my chemex, and grinding with my hario skeleton. The aroma while grinding is amazing too, would defiantly recommend to try.
