General Returns & Exchange Policy
PLEASE NOTE: For the Holiday Season, our normal 30 day, no hassle, no restock fee return window will be extended until January 31st, 2025 for products purchased between November 1st, 2024 and December 24th, 2024.
Within 30 Days
You can return any item purchased in-store or online, even if it's been opened and used.
Within 12 Months
Unopened and unused items can be returned within 12 months from the original order date. Opened items may still be returnable, but a restocking fee may apply.
How to Initiate a Return
To begin a return, please navigate to our self-serve return portal. You will need to enter your order number and an associated email, zip code, or phone number. This can be found in your order confirmation email from Eight Ounce Coffee. For step-by-step instructions, please visit the returns FAQ page.
The self-serve return portal is only compatible with orders placed through the Eight Ounce Coffee website and from within Canada. If you have placed an order from the U.S or from an authorized reseller and need to return an item, please contact hello@eightouncecoffee.ca with a receipt and we will be happy to assist you.
Refund Process
The cost of the item, minus any initial shipping costs (for orders not qualifying for free shipping), will be refunded. While we aim to make the process as smooth as possible, we may ask for feedback to help us improve our product lines.
If your return falls outside of the limited 1-year or 30-day warranty period, please contact us and we will do our best to assist you.
Important Notes
Final Sale Items: Gift cards, yard sale items, opened filters, and perishables (such as coffee, tea, and oat milk) are final sale unless covered under warranty. Perishable or consumable items are NOT ELIGIBLE for refunds unless damage has occurred during shipping.
Packaging: We appreciate you sending back as much of the original packaging as possible. Please ensure that items are well-packaged for their return journey as we cannot refund items that are damaged in transit due to inadequate packaging.
Restocking Fee: We reserve the right to charge a restocking fee if the product is returned dirty, wet, with missing parts, or if it's returned after the 30-day window. Yard sale items may also incur a restocking fee if not covered by warranty.
Return Shipping Costs: Eight Ounce Coffee can only cover the expense of a return label if:
- The product has a warranty defect (within the warranty period)
- The product was damaged in transit
- You received an incorrect product
For all other returns, the customer will be responsible for the expense of a return shipping label. If you request a return shipping label, the cost will be deducted from your total refund amount.
For orders marked as "refused" or "return to sender," return shipping costs will be deducted from the eligible refund.
Inspection and Refund
Once we receive your returned item, it will be inspected for any damage. Your refund will be processed via your original method of payment.
If you have returned an item to be replaced, the replacement unit will be added to our shipping queue and shipped within 1-2 business days along with a shipping confirmation email.
Exchanges
If you change your mind or realize you've ordered the wrong product after it has shipped, we'll gladly accept a return – please refer to our Return Policy above. Once the return process is initiated, you may place a new order for the correct product either immediately or after receiving your refund. The choice is yours!
Gift Returns & Exchanges
To process a gift return or exchange, we will need either the order number or the name of the original purchaser. This will allow us to locate the order in our system. Please note that refunds can only be issued to the original method of payment.
If the item was purchased from an authorized reseller, we will require a receipt.
As the recipient, you have two options:
- In-Person Exchange: Visit our Calgary showroom to exchange the item directly.
- Mail-In Return: Contact us at hello@eightouncecoffee.ca to request a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. You can then ship the item back to us and receive the purchase value on a gift card. Gift cards can be used both in person and online.
Please keep in mind that gift returns and exchanges are subject to our standard Returns Policy outlined above.
Warranty Policy
All of our products are covered by individual manufacturer warranties, as well as our Eight Ounce Coffee Limited 1-Year Warranty, which begins on the date of purchase or when your delivery arrives.
If a product you purchased from us or one of our authorized resellers experiences a malfunction due to a manufacturer defect, please contact us promptly at hello@eightouncecoffee.ca. Be sure to include a copy of your original sales receipt or order number, as it will be necessary to process your warranty claim.

PLEASE NOTE: Warranty claims do not cover the following:
- Defects resulting from misuse, such as negligence, failure to descale, damage from drops or falls, or failure to follow product instructions.
- Normal wear and tear, including scratches, dents, and the wearing out of replaceable parts.
- Natural variations in the color of wooden components (such as handles, lids, collars, or bases).
- Glass, plastic, or ceramic items or parts, except when the damage occurs during transit or is due to a manufacturing error.
- Items purchased from third-party e-commerce websites such as Amazon, eBay, or similar platforms.
