Tasting Notes: Guava, Macadamia, Cacao Nibs, Spices

Produced by Supriyanto, also known as Iyan, on his farm located on Mount Suket within the Ijen mountain range in Java, Indonesia, this Laurina variety is processed using anaerobic natural methods. Laurina, also known as Bourbon Pointu, is an exotic coffee varietal renowned for its naturally low caffeine content, approximately 0.8%, compared to typical Arabica coffees at 1.8%. Cultivating Laurina in Indonesia presents challenges due to its susceptibility to leaf rust and diseases; however, through cross-breeding and natural mutation techniques, Supriyanto has successfully produced the first Indonesian-grown Laurina. In the cup, this coffee offers exceptional sweetness with reduced bitterness, featuring flavor notes of guava, macadamia, cacao nibs, and spices
