C. liberica is a different species of coffee from arabica, meaning that it has different aromatic compounds, acids, lipids, sugars, caffeine content, and ideal growing conditions from arabica. The liberica species offers a naturally low caffeine content, elevating sweetness while balancing its bold, syrupy body.
