This coffee blend delivers a "balanced" profile with fruity and floral notes. Customers praised its versatility for espresso, pour-over, and filter brewing, noting "juicy and fruity acidity" and "clean finish." Some found it "bright" for certain espresso ratios, while others appreciated the "delicate taste." Price concerns were raised, though most recommend it for daily enjoyment.

Good, but not cost competitive

This is a nice fruity blend with a black tea like body and finish. It's roasted a touch darker than you might be used to with single origin specialty coffee, but this lends it well to allongé or turbo-style sprover shots. For pour-over it's good, but certainly not forty loonies good. It's like the coffee equivalent of a good first flush darjeeling being sold at matcha prices. (This analogy is liable to age like fine milk if the great matcha shortage passes, but oh well).

balanced coffee

Pretty balanced, good for both espresso (with or without milk) and filter

Floral, clean cups brewed with V60

Brewed with V60, 20 to 320 with a ZP6 @6. 60C bloom for 1:30 then 93C to total weight. Very floral cups, clean finish, slight acidity. Flavours are not as distinct as some other coffees, but for the price, a good choice.

Juicy and well integrated!

First time trying Onyx coffee (and first time ordering from eightouncecoffee) A little disappointed that the coffee arrived already 4 weeks old, but the coffee was still decently fresh, and I really enjoyed it. Already finished the bag, Loved the long and juicy finish, sweetness, and well integrated acidity. I'd order this again!

Great!

Great flavour and found the notes came through with the aeropress, had a nice sweetness as it cooled

Delicious and Forgiving Blend - Misleading Tasting Notes

Honestly I was pretty excited to try this given the big name associated with it, and it was an enjoyable espresso for sure. Wasn't too difficult to dial in to make a pleasant cup but I'll be honest either I was doing something wrong or the tasting notes were totally misleading.

Great for filter...

.... Less so for Espresso. Even with a Monolith grinder near touch its just too bright at under 2:1 ratios.
