Tasting Notes: Almond, Chocolate, Dried Fruit

This decaf offering from Amatenango de Frontera in Chiapas, Mexico, is a communal lot from various smallholder farmers. Utilizing the Mountain Water Process (MWP) for decaffeination, this coffee retains its comforting profile, delivering notes of almond, chocolate, and dried fruit, reminiscent of classic Huehuetenango profiles.

Great decaf, but not a usual Subtext profile

I drink a lot of subtext non-decaf and usually they’re bright, juicy, fruity. This is a very nice decaf but it’s more of a gentle drinker. Good complexity and a bit of acidity which is nice. It’s a great coffee and I agree with the tasting notes listed.
