Introducing the long-awaited Ratio Eight Series 2 Automatic Coffee Maker. Inspired by the art of pour-overs and the simple pleasure of coffee brewed perfectly.

The Series 2 brings helpful upgrades to a classic design, including a new stainless-steel and glass hot water path, one-button automation, and a BPA-free polymer exterior. Meanwhile, it retains the Ratio Eight's iconic hourglass silhouette.

This is not one of those coffee makers you want tucked into a corner. Featuring solid walnut wood framing and a hand-blown borosilicate glass carafe, the Ratio Eight Series 2 is more than an automatic coffee maker; it's a sculptural masterpiece that only gets better with age.

    Plastic-Free Waterlines
If you've ever searched for a coffee maker with minimal plastic, you would know that finding one is easier said than done - but not with the Ratio Eight Series 2.
Much like the Ratio Eight, the Series 2 is engineered with borosilicate glass waterlines, a hand-blown glass carafe, and a stainless-steel filter basket. From beginning to end of the brewing cycle, hot water never comes into contact with plastic.
Cool water is stored in a high-quality, food-safe Tritan reservoir.

    One Button, Two Recipes
To toggle between full and half-batch modes, simply hold down the button. Whether you're serving family and friends or just yourself, the coffee maker automatically accounts for bloom cycles to improve flavour and clarity.
From light roasts to dark blends, the Series 2 is made for those who value cafe-quality coffee without the fuss or mess of a manual pour-over. Simply press, sit back, and enjoy.

    Full Extraction With Every Cup
Brew with a guiding hand. The Series 2 includes a double-walled, flat-bottom basket and improved shower head, helping to evenly saturate the coffee bed and keep flavours balanced.
Both are crafted from stainless steel, eliminating common plastic components while retaining heat for more efficient extraction.

    Luxury Designed to Last
Featuring a hand-crafted walnut trim juxtaposed with glass and stainless steel, the Ratio Eight Series 2 combines a natural warmth with cutting-edge design.
To guarantee an even higher degree of longevity, all materials have been selected by Ratio based on their ability to withstand moisture, heat, and daily use over long periods of time. Because luxury should last more than a fleeting moment especially when it comes to your coffee.

Automated pour-over coffee maker praised as "beautiful" and "a work of art" that produces "smooth, excellent coffee." Customers loved the premium materials (glass/metal, no plastic) and minimal one-button design. However, price point is "ridiculously overpriced" for some. Coffee doesn't stay hot without thermal carafe. Some noted bulky power cord and temperature concerns.

Gorgeous Just Ridiculously Overpriced

By far the most beautiful coffee maker I've ever seen, let alone owned. The coffee it produces does taste about 15% better than a regular drip coffee machine. It's super minimal, just one button, no programming, no alternate options or brewing methods, which is honestly just the way I like it: very minimal.

My main gripe about this is the price point. If you have money to throw around then sure go for it, but it is nowhere near worth the $1,300 CAD I paid for it after tax. Just insanely overpriced but a gorgeous coffee machine if you have spare money to spend.

I was skeptical that a coffee maker could make that much difference ! Using the same coffee as usual

I was skeptical that a coffee maker could make that much difference ! Using the same coffee as usual, we could taste “notes” in it ( carmel, toast) and it is soooo smooth! No bitterness, no upset tummy, no jitters. A beautiful machine for the counter and a great cup of coffee. If you like to let your coffee sit for a while, you might want the thermal carafe.

It’s beautiful and it makes excellent coffee!

It’s beautiful and it makes excellent coffee. I’ve been making manual pour over for many years. This does basically the same, but it’s easier to serve a larger group when necessary. The all glass and metal hot water path is a welcome improvement over my old Moccamaster - plus the shower head distributes the water evenly. The only criticism would be the price. Yes, it is spendy, but the quality of construction is superlative, plus it doubles as a work of art for your countertop.

Took a chance that my husband would like to "up" his coffee routine. Great news! He absolutely loves this automatic pour over machine. He states he would never have bought it for himself but it so very glad he received this as a gift. The ritual of morning coffee has become reliably perfect. I am not a coffee drinker but love how streamlined and visually pleasing this beauty is on our counter. (Yes, it's allowed to stay in plain sight right on top of the counter). Would very much recommend the investment and customer service was excellent to answer my questions and get this to us faster than I had expected! Cheers.

I live across the country in New York, and I received my Ratio in perfect condition! The machine worked perfectly right from the start. I use my Able Cone and found the perfect Ratio 29 grams of Coffee to 21 Ounces of Water. It is everything I hoped for and more.
Thanks Mark for designing this awesome machine

The Ratio 8 coffee maker in matte black is a very beautiful machine. It is even more elegant in person than in the photos. Even more perfect is the coffee the Ratio 8 produces. We are very, very pleased. Thank you!

It’s awesome. Looks amazing, makes great coffee. I wasn’t expecting it to be able to produce such a nice cup. Your filter will have a flat grounds bed and clean walls.

I like it, however there are a couple minor critiques I would offer.

The cord, why not include a power cord with a 90 degree elbow connector at both ends? The straight end for the Ratio increases the area consumed by an additional couple of inches.

The touch power ‘button’ I would personally prefer a legitimate physical switch so I could plug this bad boy into a smart outlet and brew my coffee before I wake up.

The “sensor”, magnet(?) that is attached to the bottom of the carafe is loosely attached and is going to cause the bottom of my carafe to shatter upon any mildly rough placement onto a counter.

Other than that I like it a lot. It brews fairly quickly, and well, and looks great.

It’s almost perfect! Just a few thoughts...

- Put more markings on water tank (also give corresponding oz.) for more precise measurements
- Power cord is too robust for it’s current location. Ie. Ratio Eight can’t be pushed up against wall, and requires more counter space
- on/start button is too sensitive, can inadvertently be started if brushed
- A different sensor for the carafe would work better. Could be unique to me, but my current carafe when placed in the middle is off center with the shower head. When I center the carafe with the shower head, the magnet doesn’t pick up and I get the off center error lighting

We love our Ratio 8! It makes the same quality coffee as our prior manually brewed pourovers. I particularly enjoy having this setup the night before to save time making coffee in the morning, and it looks fantastic!

This coffee maker is great. I use it for iced and hot coffee as well as tea with no problems at all. There is no cross contamination of coffee and tea since the filter housing is built into the glass. My suggestion is to use the glass carafe for iced beverages and the metal carafe for hot since there is no hot plate. At first I questioned the lack of hot plate but I can honestly say it’s better with out it. Coffee that’s been sitting for an hour on the hot plate doesn’t taste very good any more so just don’t make a more than you can drink in 45 minutes or so and use the thermal carafe to maintain the temperature. I would highly recommend the Ratio Eight and can’t wait to see what they bring to the table in the future!

I love this coffee maker. The coffee is truly remarkable. I am following the directions to a 'T.' I will say I broke my coffee dripper this morning by dropping it which is annoying so the rule of thumb is 'be careful.' Oh and one more note, this coffee maker takes slightly longer to brew but nothing annoying.

I have a chemex glass pour over coffee carafe that my mother used when I was young 50 years ago. It has always been my favorite coffee and always gets compliments from guests. The problem is making it just right when you are also entertaining. I have long looked for a machine that could truly match that coffee automatically, and I have found it.
This machine was well worth the wait. It is just gorgeous in my kitchen. We were given choices that allowed us to practically make it look built in.
In addition to being beautiful it is also constructed with superior materials that feel and weigh like smooth stone.
The coffee is excellent, particularly when made with a chemex filter. There are zero residues or granules anywhere, and the flavor is never bitter, but smooth and true to the bean.
I tried to post this on the web with a photo, not sure if it worked
Thanks for making such a great machine.

I ordered this in April during the pandemic, as my coffee maker was old and unreliable and I was looking for something inspiring. The arrival was long-awaited and worth it - in September, it finally arrived. I have to say the experience AND the quality of the coffee is exceptional. Expectations achieved. Thank you!

Absolutely gorgeous and probably one of the best built things I’ve ever purchased. Automated my pour over ritual and saves me all that time, plus looks amazing on the counter. No debate about this: buy one and you will not regret it.
