BARATZA 110V Motor

Baratza is a great company in that it offers DYI people detailed instructions for testing failed components. In this case their online video details how to test if the motor is fried - by an OHM-meter as you turn the shaft. That's how I knew the motor was broken and not the control board. Video also shows how to replace, which involves about 9 screws. All this means we can get away from a throw-away culture.

Following the video on your site was a no brainer, my grinder work like new for less than half the price.

I reached out to Tyler in Repairs for some troubleshooting advice to confirm with a higher degree of confidence that the issue was the motor. Tyler was very helpful and also suggested that I replace the chassis since one of the mounts had broken. The ordering and shipping experience through Eight Ounce was great. Happy to say that my older Baratza Maestro is now working like a new unit. Impressed with Baratza making these units easily serviceable to avoid grinders in disrepair going to the landfill site. Two thumbs up!

Used to replace the motor in my Preciso because the original drive gear and worm gear on the motor had chewed each other up. Easy to install but I had to improvise the wiring because the motor doesn’t come with wires to connect to the power. Fortunately the wires on the old motor were long enough so I clipped them and got L female connectors from Princess Auto. Works very well now. The lack of wires is the only fault.
