I had bought the Sette 30 a couple years ago because it fit the budget perfectly for my first foray into at home espresso. A bit selling feature at the time was that you could upgrade the adjustment assembly to the 270 series assembly in the future, thus going from 30 stops of adjustment to a whopping 270! As I've become more and more of an at home espresso pro, I've started to realized that I needed more control over my grind to really dial things into exactly where I wanted them; adjustments for when you need that "in between" spot that the Sette 30 just doesn't have between it's adjustment points. Unfortunately the price of this has gone up from Baratza in recent years, but it's still a steal of an upgrade and far less than the price difference between the Sette 30 and Sette 270 upfront (I don't need the extra buttons/memory features of the 270 anyway - I write down my presets). Swapping out the old assembly for the new took me less than 4 minutes - it's the easiest upgrade I've done to my espresso game yet! I'm VERY pleased with the results and massive increase in adjustability now.
