  • Introducing the pinnacle in coffee distribution! DUOMO The Eight brings competition level extraction with every shot of espresso. Using DUOMO The Eight is a very pleasurable experience. The high-quality aluminum body feels great in the hand and looks even better on your countertop. The Eight is very ergonomic, and can excel in a busy cafe or compliment a meditative, morning espresso routine. The action of the press is very satisfying, the spin is effortless and effective, and the base has a built in brush to keep the eight needles nice and tidy.

DUOMO designed The Eight around the technique of the Weiss Distribution Technique (WDT). The Eight perfects the WDT and produces a more even, efficient and clean distribution (good-bye funnel and paper clip!). The design and placement of the eight needles allow for optimal performance. The end result is fluffy espresso that is evenly distributed throughout the entire basket. Shots pull more consistently and showcase the espresso in its truest form.

Don't just take our word for it, you can read more about the Duomo here from Karine Ng, Quality Director at Phil & Sebasitian Coffee Roasters and multiple Canadian National Barista Competition finalist.

I love this tool after just one use. As mentioned you may not need this, but it works for me. I've been using the yogurt cup and sewing needle technique for 1000s of shots, with decent results. I use a naked Portafilter and the slightest bit of clumping is noticeable. Duomo the eight gave me a superior pull the first time, and I can tell after one use that my coffee zone will remain much cleaner. 2 thumbs up for Duomo.

Is it worth it?

Yes it has made a difference in my distribution and reduced channeling but it is absolutely a coffee geeks toy and you definitely don’t need it.
And the cost is high
But as my buddy said...
“I have room on my counter for it”

It’s nice.

Best Product

This is a must have product for serious coffee enthusiasts.

Increases the distribution effiency. The nails should be a bit smaller though to make fluffier grounds, but it's very good overall!

Game changer

I’m fanatical when it comes to perfect espresso at home, and have pulled over 15K shots. This is by far the best espresso tool I’ve ever used, clean and simple. Consistent, even distribution all the way to the bottom of the puck = consistent uniform extractions with zero channeling = consistently perfect espresso every time. Top quality material and design, and well worth it. I still use the BT wedge to cleanly level the puck afterwards, before tamping, but most distributor tools are actually surface groomers, not distribution tools. 5 stars all around.

No more mess when using naked.
No more mess when distributing.
Much cleaner taste. And no more channeling due to clumps.

A big improvement, even for experienced espresso nerds

This tool normalizes a great deal of variability in even the most rigorous, muscle-memory-driven WDT behaviours. I realized within the first few days of using it how sloppy I was with my prior methods, and sure enough my puck prep has increased commensurately. There's even an argument that you'll save money despite the cost, since your % of "good" drinks will increase, requiring fewer sink shots and less waste. YMMV on how long that takes though!

Overall I just love the quality and results of the tool, and when I emailed Jeff at Coffeez in Korea with questions and suggestions, he was responsive and forthcoming with his responses.
