Fellow spent two years developing the next generation of their award-winning home brew grinder. From the finest pour-overs to the coarsest cold brews, your coffee will never be the same again.

Designed by Nick Terzulli, Fellow's VP of R&D and Certified Q Grader (the highest certification in sensory coffee assessment), the Ode Gen 2 Brew Burrs grind finer and with more precision. The broader grind range is exceptional for every brew method except espresso. With new anti-static technology for less grind mess, a redesigned load bin for smoother bean feeding, and an expanded 100 gram catch cup for batch brews, the next generation of grinding is here.

The Ode Gen 2 is designed to be a single dose grinder - that means bye bye giant hopper and hello to your coffee staying fresher, longer. Fear not, the hopper can accommodate 100g of coffee - plenty for your big batch brews. With its small footprint, thoughtful design, and premium finish, the Ode Gen 2 is the answer to your home grinding needs and then some. Stop doubting and start believing.

This 120V model is only compatible with outlets in the US and Canada. To find an international retailer near you, head HERE. Ode Brew Grinder is not an espresso grinder nor suitable for moka pots.

Customers praised this grinder for exceptional consistency, quiet operation, and improved coffee taste. "Fast, quiet and our coffee has never tasted as good" with minimal retention and effective anti-static. Ideal for pour-over and filter methods. Some noted occasional hopper jamming and catch cup design issues, but overwhelmingly positive on grind quality and value.

Underwhelming

I may change this if I find tricks or tweaks to improve the results I am getting from this grinder but so far my experience has been pretty underwhelming compared to all the hype and reputation out there.

I'll start with the positive; It is quick and mostly the build seems solid.

The negative; To start, the two main reasons I purchased this grinder is because it was promoted as one of the quieter electric grinders on the market and that I should see a noticeable (10-25%?) improvement in flavour/ clarity/ cup quality.

1. I was hoping that a quieter grinder would keep everyone in my household peacefully sleeping while I make coffee early in the morning, yet it is not as nearly as quiet as many reviews state. It is definitely louder than my Timemore C2 hand grinder and I would say it also louder than my previous electric Timemore Go (RIP).

2. In cup experience so far has been erratic and disappointing. I would say the difference is negligible. What do I look for in a cup? Like most some good body and you want to taste most of those expressive tasting notes on the expensive coffee we all buy and love. I still find it easier to have a more pleasant and detailed cup on the C2 (and I have read many reddits and recipes and tried at different ratios/ settings).

3. Lastly this is more feedback for the price point and broader industry observation; Although the build is solid, I think most would agree that when you are spending this type of money, it would be nice to do without plastic in most of the build in general and especially parts that come in contact with the beans (food) itself. Ideally an inert hopper material would be more consistent (stainless, glass etc) would be healthier and easier to recycle if at some point this becomes electronic waste. I also wish the power cord was about twice as long as it limits where in your space you can plug in the grinder.

Works great after the initial break in period

After a little bit of a break-in period where the grind was all over the place, it seems to be doing a good job.

The build quality is great and the workflow concerns from some reviews out there don't seem to bother me at all (specifically the ginds collection container).

I also love how fast and quiet it is compared to my Preciso.

Love it

Bought several months ago, I wanted to wait before reviewing to make sure i had enough experience with it. Absolutely love this grinder for Filter. I make Pourover, soup, soup longas. Its quiet, easy to use, feels premium, and looks great. I've already given it a deep clean and recalibrated without issue. The cups are sweet without clarity loss. Its not a clarity monster like maybe a Pietro or ZP6, but it gives you sweetness and great separation. Highly recommend

Good design and also make good coffee

I loved the design as soon as I unboxed it, especially I also bought Aiden coffee maker, and it’s look great when it’s put together . I'm still getting used to it, but so far I'm very satisfied.

Amazing affordable grinder

Purchased this after using the hario skerton for over a year. Made a huge difference in both taste and time. Unit feels solid. Much heavier than I expected it to be but doesnt take up alot of counter space.I find there to be a little retention but nothing crazy.

Fast. Consistent grind. Quiet.

It is much quieter than my previous Encore grinder. Super fast at grinding. I make pour-overs and the grind is great for that. So far I am loving my new grinder. I also love that it stops automatically. For a step up in pour-over world, I’d suggest getting this Fellow Ode Gen 2.0 grinder!

Happy to finally purchase this

So far, I’m very happy with the grind results. Consistent grind, quick and no static. I also love the auto shutoff feature, which my other burr grinder didn’t have. It could be in my head, but the coffee just tastes smoother. Glad I purchased and delivery from Eight Ounce was super quick. Thank you!

The grinder is great

The grinder is great, well built with a pleasant work flow. Anti-static works great also. I am struggling to get the flavors desire from the burrs, but as they season I am sure they will improve.

Quiet, sleek, modern, great tasting coffee.

Arrived sooner than expected even though it was during the holiday rush. Looks awesome on my coffee counter - very modern aesthetic. Extremely quiet machine. I I’ve had it a few days but I highly recommend. For reference I drink mostly light roasts, Ethiopian, Kenyans, natural and washed. Some funky stuff.

Excellent grinder

Excellent grinder.
It produces an excellent cup and is well worth the money. As a bonus, it’s fast, quiet and super clean. It’s an easy pic for those brewing anything but espresso.

Solid grinder

So far so good- I think mine grinds a bit finer than a traditional one but it’s a significant upgrade from my time more c3 and is helping me dial in my pour overs to the next level. Got a good deal on Black Friday so feels worth it. Better consistency in my grinds with fewer fines.

Quieter than any grinder I've owned

Quieter than any grinder I've owned. I honestly don't have a good enough pallet to taste the difference (coffee is not noticeably better) but the sound reduction and experience was worth it for me!

Best grinder option!

I got this for my brother to replace his older version Fellow Ode, and he said he can see a big difference. I also have this grinder and I love it! Easy to use, consistent grind size, and looks great on the counter. I think it’s the best option for everyday coffee

Upgrade from Fellow Opus

I upgraded from the Fellow Opus. What an upgrade! This thing is built like a tank. Looks amazing and the consistency of my grind size is much better than on the Opus. Eight Ounce staff fulfilled my order so quickly and it arrived at my door the next day. Highly recommend this grinder

Awesome grinder!

Upgraded from baratza encore. This ode is so quiet and so fast in comparison. Grinds seem so much more uniform as well

A fantastic upgrade!

I decided to replace my Baratza Encore and the Ode is a wonderful upgrade. In comparison it’s much quieter, has a smaller footprint on the counter, produces less mess from fine grounds, and it grinds the beans quickly and uniformly. I did run into a jam situation (a reminder to self to be more mindful of general maintenance than I had been with the older machine), but I followed the videos on the Fellow website to resolve everything without issue. Super pleased with this purchase!

Fellow Ode 2 No static!

I bought the Ode 2because of the anti static feature and it works great! It comes with a brush to clean the exit chute (still required) once in a while. But it is so much cleaner, virtually no mess to clean up after each grind. Plus it looks beautiful on the countertop!

Great upgrade over encore.

Just purchased and seasoning the burrs. In my preliminary eyeballing of the grounds, they're pretty similar to my Kingrinder K6 and markedly improved in uniformity over my old baratza encore (non-esp). It's nice looking on the counter without a gigantic bellow up top. It has great waf/haf (visually inoffensive and quite a bit smaller in footprint than other grinders). I figure that once I wanna try something different, I can switch up to different burrs which gives tinkerers something to do without breaking the bank. With the customer service from eight ounce, and a 3 year warranty from fellow, it's a pretty easy recommendation. Time will tell how this thing holds up. So far so good. Time to make some coffee.

Not an Ai review, so forgive the typos and crappy grammar.

Will whatever powers the Auto-Stop eventually break/wear out and if so, can I repair?

Eight Ounce Coffee

It’s just a component on the PCB, so no — it doesn’t have a higher likelihood of wearing out compared to other parts. It will be covered under the standard warranty that applies to the Ode Gen 2.
