FELLOW Stagg [XF] Pourover Dripper (600ml/20oz)

This is an excellent brewer. The flow through is quite fast, and the narrower channel allows for great pouring control. I got wonderful results with this brewer.

Overall I'm not a huge fan of this brewer. I wanted to like it but it has a lot going against it that makes that difficult. First and foremost it doesn't do anything to speed up making your morning cup of coffee. Everything about brewing with this brewer is slower than the benchmark Hario V60. Preparing the filter takes longer because it's hard to separate them. Balancing the brewer on a mug can be tricky sometimes as the brewer isn't really compatible with every mug. If the seal gets wet (and it will) it tends to slip around and not stay level on the mug which can be extremely annoying as you're pouring 205F water hoping it doesn't decide to fall over. Fellow anticipated this, of course, and recommend that you brew on their custom designed glassware that balances this brewer properly. Not worth it in my opinion.

Also, it ships with a funnel to place your grinds properly - honestly the funnel works well but it's one more thing you need to do to prepare your cup of coffee.

The coating on it isn't bad but it's not very aesthetic in my opinion. The brewer clips together with its bottom and funnel but it's finicky and seems to put a lot of pressure on the seal which makes it seem like it'll reduce the life of the seal.

Honestly, stay away. This IS NOT an hybrid immersion/pour over brewer. If you want one of those get a Hario Switch. This brewer is not worth the money and the custom filters are not worth the hassle. It doesn't brew a better cup of coffee than a Hario V60 or even the Melitta. That said, I'm giving it two stars instead of one because it does brew a good cup of coffee after all of the hassle. Just not a better one than cheaper, faster, easier-to-clean brewers.

If you are busy heading out the door in the mornings but still want a good cup of consistent and tasty pour-over coffee...look no further! this is it! fill it up with water and call it done! I am a big fan of pour-over coffees mainly because it can extract all the different flavors it calls out on a bag of coffee but sometimes I get lazy and just want a good cup of coffee and do not want to go thru all the pouring techniques but I still want all the sweetness, well-balanced citrusy from my beans. As much as this dripper looks kinda in an unusual shape compared to your traditional coffee dripper and you might think that how good could your coffee taste when you are just going to fill up the dripper with water, the coffee that came out of it is going SHOCK you! they are shockingly sweet, balanced, well extracted and tasty! Try for yourself! I would highly recommend it!

I love this thing. I love the built-in measuring device in the bottom, to the narrow lip adapter inside of it. It is a chic piece of kit for the kitchen, but also perfectly suited for travel. Will probably replace my aero press for the next little while.

I have become a big fan of Fellow products as I continue to explore pour-over. They never disappoint, and the Fellow Stagg XF Pour-Over Dripper is no exception. It is easy to use, very consistent, and I can get my first two cups of coffee going in the morning even if I'm not at my best. I still use various other methods, however, they are generally for single cups and require more attention to detail. The only negative I have experienced with this product has been when making single cups, it does seem to allow the water to flow too quickly when using smaller amounts of coffee. No problems when making two cups, and in fairness, they have another product designed for single cups.

I would be pleased to review the Fellow Stagg XF Pour-Over Dripper once I get a chance to use it. I'm still awaiting the Fellow Stagg EKG+ kettle which I ordered separately two weeks ago today. Evidently UPS has been playing hot potato with it between Ontario and Quebec for most of this time delay. If the EKG+ ever arrives, I'll give you some useful feedback!

Amazing craftsmanship, beautiful product.
Once you get your grind figured out this makes a rather quick cup coffee for your mornings.
Had trouble in the beginning with only making 1 cup as water was going through too quickly.

Still have yet to use the included funnel...
