Smaller than I expected, and more expensive than one would expect for a plastic base. There are cheaper ceramic mills that come with a tempered glass base rather than a plastic one.

I honestly don't understand the praise this model gets. Maybe I just got a bad unit, but it takes me several gruelling minutes to grind 30 grams and the result is very inconsistent with lots of fines and big chunks. I thought I just didn't like hand grinders, and then I got a Timemore C2 and it was a game changer. Takes less than a minute and gives a practically cafe-quality grind, with a smooth, easy cranking action that doesn't tire me out. I still use my Hario occasionally (I have it as a backup for when I forget to bring the Timemore back and forth, because it's still marginally better than a $20 electric grinder), but I'm here to replace it with a second Timemore and I'll be so happy to be rid of it.

You get what you pay for. It grinds well, and there is minimum retention if you slap it bunch, bit I noticed some issues. First issue is the outer burr (the thing that's not the cone) sits ever so slightly loose. A quick fix is to wrap tape around it to cushion it in place. The second is the unevenness of the conical burr (blade part? the cone itself) leads to uneven grinding, and I'm left with some SUPER fine parts and other SUPER large bits. To fix this I ended up taping around the shaft connecting to the cone part of the burr set, so it sits in place in the housing. It's a bit hard to explain what I did, but I'm sure there are tutorials to fix these issues online. After these fixes my grind became more consistent and I haven't noticed anymore of the big chunks in my coffee bed.

TLDR: Some fixable issues persist, but good value for dollar imo.

Good for filter/cold brewing, would not recommend for espresso.

Nice little grinder for a fair price. I'm glad I got this for my first hand grinder. I didn't want to spend too much in case I didn't like it but I actually enjoy using it! It's easy to use and clean and doesn't take up much space.

I've used this grinder for a little over 5 years now. Very portable, easy to clean, and durable. My main complaint is that it's hard to get a consistent grind. At any setting there's a big gap between the largest and smallest grounds. It is also hard to find and keep the grinder on the same setting.

If I had it to do over again, I would spend a little more for a more efficient grinder. The slender shape is tough to hold on to while grinding and that slows the process down. The coffee tastes great but it is work.

First grinder I have ever used and it seems to do a decent job, although I don’t really have anything to compare it too. I’m just getting into the coffee game and wanted something good but affordable. This seems to do the job. Grinding though is not very easy, if you have the money get an electric burr grinder.

I wish there were notches to adjust the courseness, but apart from that it’s perfect. It’s nice and compact, and feels very stable.

This is over-all a very reliable grinder, the grinds are pretty consistent. small, easy to put away, and great to travel with! if you are just starting to grind your own coffee beans I would recommend this as a starter! this grinder is way more durable than any cheap ones out there!

I bought this to be my first grinder. I really wanted something I could take apart and clean thoroughly. This is really easy to adjust as well. I count the number of clicks to remember my setting.

Hand grinding can be a workout but this works for me as I'm the only coffee drinker at home. I usually use 25g and it fits nicely. I could fit more. If I have to complain, I worry about being able to find more spare parts (Almost lost my spring once.)

Great 2 cup grinder, you can even turn it into an electric grinder with a battery powered screw driver and a 7mm socket if you have problems hand grinding!

This is my goto when I want to manually grind. Made of durable plastic that won't break or dent if dropped. Easy to clean and adjust from coarse to fine grinds. This is my third one. My 5 year ago grinder is at home, my 4 year old grinder is at the office and this one is going in the camper. Use an elastic to attach the removable handle to the side of the grinder body when storing, this will keep everything together in the cupboard, drawer or coffee bag.

I used this to make coffee in a French Press while on lunch break at work. This is a small grinder and fits nicely into your locker. The grind is just as good as the Herio Skerton Pro as im pretty sure it uses the same spring reinforced burr. I can guarantee that you won't find a better grinder for the price.

Grinds easily. It’s challenging to do course grind, but for cold brew but great for drip/French press.

Haven’t used it for long enough to speak about longevity, but it seems to work fine. Does take a little bit of time and elbow grease to grind a considerable amount of coffee, but I guess it’s this way for most hand grinders.

Easy to use. It gets the job done. Previous reviews mentioned the base being an issue, it definitely could use improvement. I’ve also had to turn the base past the groove meant to lock it in place just to keep it secure.

I like my purchase for the price point.
Some inconsistency in the grind, but not enough to significantly impact any of my brews (V60, Vietnamese Phin & French Press)
Have not used it long enough to confirm if the Hex socket for the handle wears out, but after almost 3 weeks of use, 40g of grind per day 1-2 times per day, it does not show any sign of wear.

The locking mechanism for the base is a little bit soft though. The metal used is a little bit maleable and as a result of some use - the locking mechanism has sort of worn down. The fix is to twist the bottom beyond the intended locking spot, but it is mildly annoying to be cognizant about.

I would probably not buy one to replace it, but am perfectly happy to use this until the end of its useful life. The user experience and quality seems about as good as you can get in this price range.

My first burr grinder and it's been a great upgrade from an old uneven blade grinder. It is a little uneven as someone else mentioned. And if I had hands any smaller, it would be a challenge to use, but for me it's just perfect.

Grind is good but design, build quality and assembling aren't very good..

I've been using this for a week and so far so good. Solidly built body and handle provides a smooth grinding experience with no shakes or wobbles in the shaft. Nice black finish makes it inconspicuous.

Works as expected though
