So far great!

So far great although I haven't had it long. I love that there are no plastic pieces full metal and seems very well put together. Boils fast, and I like the way it looks!

Great Kettle

This is great no-fuss kettle. One button, boils quickly, and has nice controlled flow. If you are looking for a simple small capacity kettle I would highly recommend this one.

It's a kettle that boils water?! 😲

I bought is thanks to James Hoffman's YouTube channel because of it's great flow. Other than that, it's literally like every other kettle. It boils water at a reasonable pace, the cord is long enough and the handle is sturdy for only having 1 attachment point. I'm not a fan of the beehive look and would prefer different color options but that's just nitpicking aesthetics. Again, it's a kettle the boils water. Don't waste $200 on fancy temp regulation and minimalist colour schemes.

I bought one as a gift and now want my own. Very hard to wrap this up and give it away

Efficient but made in china

I was looking for a high quality kettle made in japan from Hario... was really dissapointed to find on the box that it was made in China. At no place i found an indication on 8oz website.

Additionally, there is a significant chemical smell and taste on the water that wont dissapear, even after 3 weeks of use.

Finally, there is a plastic part in the boiling zone, which is to me another issue.

On a good note, really convenient and efficient and nice to use, but still regret my purchase and whish that eight ounce would made clear indication on the products description, while some Hario product are made in Japan and some others are made in china, not the same quality.

Good kettle

Quick boil and not too loud, generally happy with my purchase.

Worthy to be mentioned, as I did not pay too much attention, I thought I'd get the one where you can control the temperature you're heating your water at but it's not.

Happy with my purchase

I have been using this kettle everyday since I got it, and am quite happy with it. It heats up quite quickly, is easy to control the flow, and looks great. My one and only complaint was the warning sticker above the on/off switch. the glue used was very sticky and took a lot of rubbing alcohol and scrubbing to clean off.

Quick boil

I am happy with the kettle, very quick boil, much faster than my gas cooktop; but wished it kept the water a little warmer for longer. Disappointed to find that it was made in China.

Not as good as I was expecting.

I really wanted to like this kettle. We are big Hario V60 fans and the kettle looks great and pours well. However, the lid is very tight and difficult to remove in order to fill the kettle. Because of this the knob on the lid comes loose and I’ve had to tighten the screw holding it to the lid several times. There are also brown rust spots that are appearing on the kettle around the rim. We’ve used it extensively in the month since I purchased it and realize now that the 800 ml capacity is just too small for four people brewing a lot of coffee. This kettle would be better suited to a 1-2 person household. I’m so sorry to not be able to recommend this product.

Drip Free, No Frills, Just Works

I've had this for around a month. Use it multiple times throughout the day. Fast boil, small footprint, pours very nice and controlled. Great fit for me. The quick friendly service from 8oz was 5 stars too!

Great Kettle

This is my second hario kettle, I got my first one in 2013. The overall build quality of this one is the same, but the finish on the outside of the kettle, especially the lid seems to have changed. The finish on the lid is coarse and it didn’t fit onto the kettle tightly. That said these are robust kettles and I missed mine, I’m very content to have one again.

Great kettle

Really pleased with this electric kettle. Boils water quickly and the temperature is perfect for brewing coffee. If you drink a lot of coffee and tea during the day I recommend this.

Nothing fancy but works perfect

No temp control or other fancy features, but the gooseneck is very sharp, never drips. Overall I have no complaints at all, and the service from 8 oz coffee has been fantastic.

So easy!

Love this kettle, makes doing pourovers infinitely easier! Everything feels to be of high quality and it looks killer, my only complaint would be that the lid can rattle a bit during boiling.

No Frills Gooseneck Kettle

Let me be clear that this is my first electric kettle and I did a fair bit of research before settling on Hario's. Compared to many of the other kettles on the market this one is about as basic as it gets and does what it is supposed to: boils fairly quickly and remains light weight for easy pouring.

There are however a couple of quirks that I hadn't thought about when buying. First, I'm left handed and the "on" light is on the right side, not a big deal in itself, but while the kettle has what it calls boil dry protection, be cautious that you don't accidentally turn the kettle on when it's empty as this will only engage when there is a certain amount of water in it. The on/off lever is also right below the handle on the kettle, and it is really easy to engage. So, if you've pointed the on light towards the wall it is pretty hard to notice that you've engaged it until you smell a hot empty kettle. I've since decided it's best to just suck it up and pretend to be right handed.

The gooseneck itself works well enough, but I do wish that they had changed the ark slightly so that you don't need to give so much clearance over your pour over dripper. Also just want to quickly note that the kettle itself has an 800ml capacity, so if you're into french press, just remember that an 8 cup press is 860ml. So adjust your grind size and if you're into preheating your press remember that you're going to need to boil 2 pots.

Besides all the nuances I noted, it's still a decent enough kettle and there are no real gripes about it.

Making me feel like a real barista

This kettle is lightweight and has a PERFECT pour. Also, it heats up fast and quietly. I created a make-shift barista station in my bedroom and this little guy doesn't even wake my partner up when it reaches a full boil - at my bedside! Would absolutely recommend this product, even my cats think it's pretty neat :)

Your setup sounds amazing!! We should all have a bed-side barista station!
