Roughness and delicacy are the expressive elements of CERAMIC LAB. Developed by working closely with craftsmen in traditional pottery villages of Japan, it is a fresh interpretation of Japanese tableware for the modern lifestyle. Knowledge and skills were inherited to develop the product - from the proportion of clay and glaze, to the sensitive transformations while firing that depend on temperature and humidity. Featuring the warm textures of clay, the humble designs give comfort to the user.

Beautiful mugs - the beige color has a slight sage green undertones

Different colour than expected

I bought the beige mug expecting it to be a warm light beige as shown in the photos but it turned out to be way more muted and more like a darker grey-beige instead! Was looking for variety in my mug rotation so that was disappointing.

Beautiful mug but small handle

It’s a beautiful mug but agreed with the other review, the handle is way too small. You can only fit one or two fingers through. I love their mugs but will prefer the other ones.

Great Mug

Aesthetic mug that is great for when I want a larger coffee. Bottom is textured

Classic mug

Great café staple, suits use at home perfectly. The width of the wall is very comfortable to drink from (not too thick), which also means the mug isn’t too heavy either. The design is beautiful also but be aware that the handle is small (this has never been problematic for me). Another thing to note is the glaze on the beige mug has brown particles that tend to settle in areas around the lip of the mug so if you’re looking for a very consistently coloured mug, this wouldn’t be my first recommendation. I personally think the “inconsistency” is beautiful and lends to a more handmade look. We toss them in the dishwasher and they hold up great, they’re a mainstay in our house.

Great mug but handle could be bigger

I really like this mug, the aesthetics of it (I've always been a sucker for Japanese design) and I love the sensation as the liquid rolls off the perfectly slanted and thin lip of the mug.
However I find the handle bit too small to the point I find myself balancing it bit trepidatiously with one finger. I know I have slightly pudgy fingers but my wife who has slighter fingers than I also has the same challenge.
Furthermore the hot liquid can make the bottom quite hot to the touch. So between avoiding touching the bottom and having one finger balance the mug handle (without grazing the side of the mug itself which can also be hot), it feels too conscious of an effort to drink AND enjoy one's hot beverage.

I still really like this mug. I just find it more of an effort to find the right balancing act in holding it.

Solid mug

Well crafted with a solid weight, but the beige color one has many dark burnt dots that do not really show in the photo.

Hi,

Kinto ceramic items are manufactured in Japan in Hasami.

Will these fit and handle an aeropress?

Eight Ounce Coffee

Hey Simon!
Great question! And wise to check this out before purchase. The AeroPress does fit comfortably with some room to spare. The Ceramic Lab Mugs are well built and can definitely handle the pressure of an AeroPress. Happy Brewing!
