  • BETTER EXTRACTION DYNAMICS

The Unifilter™ created a portafilter revolution. Weber Workshops is extending that concept to the Unibasket™, utilizing the same construction and improvements on extraction that the Unifilter™ brought, but in a "drop-in" basket form.

The Unibasket™ is a portafilter basket created from a single, thick piece of stainless steel. Whereas typical baskets are made from thin wafers, the Unibasket™ is forged from a 1.2mm thick blank of metal. The added thickness dramatically improves the rigidity of the puck during extraction by not allowing the bottom face to bow outwards, a common cause of puck cracking and channeling during extraction.

The Unibasket™ is made from a solid piece of Stainless 304 material. All of the holes are individually laser-ablated and go right up to the vertical wall edge, giving a true 58.5mm puck from top to bottom. Now made for 16g and 24g shots (and all +/- ~1g with use or elimination of a puck screen or puck saver).

    • Compatibility:
      • The height of the Unibasket varies by size. If the existing basket in your spouted portafilter is shorter, the Unibasket may interfere with the bottom of the group handle.
      • The Unibasket will fit most bottomless group handles. It is NOT COMPATIBLE with bottomless group handles by ECM, Slayer, Gaggia, Rancillio and Breville.
    • Size:
      • 16g basket: ⌀71mm x H24mm (⌀2.8in x H0.945in)
      • 24g basket: ⌀71mm x H29mm (⌀2.8in x H1.14in)
    • Weight:
      • 16g basket: 56g (1.98oz)
      • 24g basket: 62g (2.19oz)
    • Material: Forged, machined and polished 304 Stainless Steel
    • Included in package:
      • 1 x Unibasket™
      • 1 x Retaining Spring (for use with standard 58mm portafilter body)
      • 1 x Pack of EPFs (Espresso Paper Filters) - Unifilter size
      • 1 x Stainless Steel puck screen or puck saver
  • Use to extract incredible espresso shots.

Premium espresso basket with exceptional build quality that delivers faster flow and higher extraction. Customers praised "clearer shots" and improved taste, especially for light roasts. Requires finer grinding and portafilter compatibility check - some ECM models don't fit. Paper filters recommended to prevent hole clogging. One durability concern reported. "Great upgrade from stock basket."

Great improvement!

This Unibasket is brings extra taste to my coffees. Better extraction, some very easy grind size adjustments have to be made because the coffee runs faster.Make sure your portafilter fits with the Unibasket my ECM didn’t,
Very happy!

This substantially improved over previous baskets I have owned, especially for lightly roasted coffee.

Great clarity

A real treat such a great upgrade from the stock basket that came with the machine.

Super solid

Very solid product and produces noticeably clearer shots. Just make sure to use their paper filter, otherwise the holes fill with grounds and it's hard to clean.

Weber Workshop

Great product to try, great for lighter roast beans. Have to grind a lot finer than typical precision baskets

Weber Workshops Unibasket Review

Better than the regular portafilter baskets (the one that came with my ECM machine and Normcore, finally getting better than espresso bar coffee. Definitely worth it.
But it’s important to use a paper filter at the bottom of the basket to avoid blocking up the smaller than normal holes of the basket also ensure the naked portafilter does not curve in. For example ECM naked portafilter does not work while the Normcore portafilter does work with it.

Love it

Grear tool!

I dont use them for everything but for light roasts it works well. You can grind finer!

Nice change of pace

This basket has been fun to play with. Much faster flow than standard baskets, which has brought out some different flavors in my espresso.

Great basket

The basket itself is great quality, but I wish I’d checked that it would fit my bottomless portafilter before buying. So far I haven’t found a great bottomless portafilter that fits my Simonelli Oscar II and also is wide enough at the bottom to fit this basket (bottom opening *must* be 61mm or more). But it still fits my OEM spouted portafilter.

It’s faster flow than a VST because it has more holes. Nicely ferrous for magnetic dosing rings.

I took a star off for some advice I got from Eight Ounce before buying that wasn’t great. I wanted to know whether to get the 16g or 20g. I said I used 18g in the 18g VST with a 2mm puck screen, and the advice was to size up to the 20g unibasket. I think that was wrong—since the unibasket has straight sides, it holds more grounds than normal. I ended up buying the 16g as well and am really happy with it, but felt a little burned by the experience. Like I said, it’s a great basket, but I didn’t love the advice I got about which size to get.

Solid and interesting

A nice chance of pace compared to my vst or superfine baskets. White it’s fast flow, grinder super fine and piling tighter shots with it has given some surprising and tasty results as well

Tricky at first

Took a while to dial in my first solid espresso but figured it out. Great with light roasts. As with online reviews, shots are much faster and need to grind finer yielding higher TDS. Love that it comes with filters and puck screen. Get the large if you typically dose 18g to allow for the puck screen depth!

solid build quality and great shots

really hefty basket here with no flex when pulling, even up to 10 bar. I seem to be getting much more even extraction due to the holes going right up to the edge.

I will say it was a tight fit in my portafilter and it's much more difficult to knock the puck out afterwards, but I don't think there is much that can be done to avoid that with a flat walled basket

Excellent basket

Significantly better construction than VST/IMS, etc. Highly recommended. Note that it's not compatible with all bottomless portafilters since the holes on the bottom of the basket go to the very edge, and the walls are straight. The 16g version holds 16.5g nicely with enough room for a puck screen and several spare MM after tamping. It's roughly equivalent to the 18g VST.

Well Made Basket

Well made basket and over engineered like most Weber items. It has been nice to have this available to continue experimentation.

High Quality Basket

Right out the box, you can feel this product is of exceptional quality. I found the shots that this basket produced are more balanced. Only con is if you decide not to use the paper filters included, fines do get stuck in the holes.

Amazing

I upgraded from the portafilter basket that came with the Flair 58 to a Weber Unibasket I bought at Eight Ounce. Wow, what an improvement in espresso flavour. Even more impressive since I found I had to grind finer and am still "dialing in" the grind size.

Awesome basket, definitely notice a difference

I'm coming from a VST precision basket. While that basket has been great, stepping up to this has made a noticeable difference.
Using the autocomb on this doesnt push the whole bed around any more, shots flow a bit faster but taste better.

One minor annoyance is that i do find some grinds stay in the holes even after washing the basket. I have to take a coffee brush to push them out. I dont know if that really matters, but figured it would be better to do that.

Nice and sturdy

Cheaper than the direct competition, you also receive paper filters, a puck screen and a retaining spring.
Looks really good and super sturdy.

Most importantly, is it a good product? Yes, really the only drawback I would say is that I thought I would use the basket without the filter papers and I found that the basket remains cleaner and get a better extraction with the filter papers.

Runs faster and finer

Pros:
Sturdy and well built
Allows you to grind finer, especially with the paper
It saturates more evenly across with the edge to edge holes

Cons:
Fines can go through the holes at the bottom
It does not fit all portafilters due to the straight walled design

High Flow Baskets

Eight Ounce Coffee made this product easy to purchase online. Quick checkout, excellent delivery. Product is high quality.

Great basket to up your espresso game. Grind finer to achieve same flow rate as normal VST or IMS baskets which increases EY. And the Eight Ounce team is really top notch with their sales/service.

Solid item

The unibasket does seem to help with the shot. Like most Weber Workshops products, it is a premium
Priced piece of kit. The build quality is excellent and it seems to have made a difference in the cup.

Not necessarily better shots

It makes a taste difference for sure, however it not necessarily making the shots taste better

Works as expected

I wanted to jump on the wagon of these high end high extraction baskets. Ended up pulling the trigger on this one over other options. So far I am very happy with the result.
I have to thank EightOunceCoffee for making WW more accessible to the canadian market

Great to have a source of Weber products in Canada

I was interested in this as soon as it came out but couldn't stomach the shipping cost from the far East. With Eight Ounce, I have free shipping - and points! :-)

Still early days with the basket, but results appear promising. Flow rates are super-high; you'll have to grind quite a bit finer, and even then, expect extraction times might drop by five+ seconds.

The basket needs the included portafilter spring (wire) to be changed on most of my portafilters. Note on the La Marzocco Linea Micra's supplied portafilter that the Unibasket's spring makes for a very tight fit - use a lot of care when prying the Unibasket out of the portafilter. The Micra portafilter's spouts also won't attach with the 20g Unibasket, but I never use the spouts.

Next Level

it's expensive but appears to be very well made. It also has some weight to it. Nice it comes with 100 EPF's and heavy duty puck screen. Just waiting on Meticulous now.
