BARATZA Sette™ 30 Coffee Grinder (120V)

I love this grinder! I think it is the best grinder for the price. It drops the grinds straight down to the portafilter....no angles inside the grinder to block grinds and have them build up. It's loud but not unbearable! Eight Ounce were a great price and it arrived in 2 days! They're awesome as per usual! PS: I love the branded "post it" notes!

We use it in our small grocery store to grind the beans for the coffees to go. Does the job well and it’s pretty straightforward to operate.

A great, fun looking entry level grinder for those looking to learn! Easy set up, great speed and wonderful performance! The overall size of the unit and hopper, is more accommodating then some other brands out there which is a huge plus. A little noisy but a worthy cost for a versatile product!

We use this for our pourover and drip coffee, decaf and regular. At the lower settings is is perfect, so it isn't just for espresso. I like how fast whips through a serving of beans, and also how the adjustable arms can hold the pourover carafe so there doesn't need to be an intermediate container. It also has not problems with very light roasts, where the beans can be denser and harder. 25g of beans takes less than 10 seconds!

Is it overkill for the coarser grinds required by drip, pourover, and press coffee? Perhaps. But it's a perfect machine and a great addition to any serious coffee setup.

An excellent espresso grinder for the price. Grinds are consistent and quick. Cons are that build quality is a bit plasticky and it’s crazy loud, but I can live with these. The steppes micro-adjustment feature on the Sette 270 are definitely a plus and I will be upgrading my Sette 30 with that mod at some point.

Upgraded from $10 Krups flat-blade grinder to this and you can tell by the strength of the flavor alone that it's a good grinder. Pretty easy to clean as well because Baratza has a video on it. As all the other reviews have said, it is quite loud so maybe consider a different one if you're in a condo and have thin walls.

Previously had the Encore. This unit is louder but also faster. Grinds very consistently.

This grinder can grind even Turkish size and if you even want finer, you can add washers to the burr to achieve that. This was my dream. The grind size really matters. I wasn’t expecting this much. It makes huge difference. I was expecting less static with this grinder but all the coffee grounds flies all over. You need a metal ring or spray to the coffee to take the static. Well no complains, this is a big upgrade for me after my breville grinder. The arms can’t hold the portafilter hands free. I will probably make my own. I am kind of person that loves coffee from French press to Turkish so definitely got the S2 burr for course grinds. Haven’t used it yet. This is all in one grinder for me. Loving it already. I always load single dose 16.5g so I really don’t need the timed function.

Love it! Works well. Bit noisy but it seems all grinders are. Recommend highly!

Great unit, with VERY consistent grinds. I use it for everything from French Press to espresso, all I do is switch the burr to the S2 for coarse grind.

The straight through grind is wonderful, the unit doesn’t retain any grinds. It is a little louder than some other units out there, more so than the entry Bodum grinder I had before, but the grind quality far exceeds the minor inconvenience of noise.

I highly recommend this grinder for anyone looking to step up their coffee game at home. Worth every penny!

As for 8 Ounce Coffee, they shipped the grinder very fast, with my S2 burr, and it was very well packaged. Communication was spot on and it is always nice to support a Canadian business.

This grinder has been perfect so far - the grind is nice and fine and I’m not near the finest setting yet. I got it to go with my Gaggia Classic Pro. I’m glad I didn’t go with a more expensive option as this has been just fine!

After much research, I ordered the Baratza Sette 30 for three reasons: it suited my needs for a burr grinder suitable for espresso made with the Breville Café Roma, the occasional cups of coffee made with an AeroPress and an automatic drip brewer; it was an high-end entry-level grinder with relatively inexpensive and accessible replacement parts; and the excellent reviews of this product from well-regarded sites such as Whole Latte Love (https://www.wholelattelove.com/blogs/reviews/review-of-baratza-sette-30-ap-coffee-grinder) and Seattle Coffee Gear (https://www.seattlecoffeegear.com/baratza-sette-30-grinder). It was also the recommendation of Eight Ounce Coffee when I visited Calgary during the summer. My Baratza arrived 6 days after shipping via UPS from Calgary to Ottawa, in a very well protected package. It has not disappointed in meeting all my caffeine needs, using the starting settings for specific brewing methods written up by Clive Coffee (https://clivecoffee.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004396334-Baratza-Recommended-Grinder-Settings). Finally, I like the fact that Baratza has made it possible to upgrade this grinder by offering three items - the Sette BG or S2 burrs for coarser grinds, the Sette drop-down portaholder fork that allows you to place hand-free the portafilter, and a dial-in replacement part that provides micro-adjustments to the basic 30 macro-adjustments found in the higher-end Baratza Sette grinders. In short, I am very happy with the fluffy espresso consistency for my daily shots and its versatility for other brewing methods.

Baratza Sette 30 AP Coffee Grinder

Had it for about a month. It grinds to a good espresso consistency. my old $50 Krupps burr grinder was not grinding fine enough. When I got this one, I bought a bag a cheaper beans to figure out what settings were needed to work with my Flair Espresso maker. I got things dialed after about 5-6 shots of espresso.

Now I use this machine every morning and some days a couple times more. I sits on my kitchen counter and I just add beans top the hopper. It is a bit loud in the morning, but doesn't seem to wake my kids up in the morning. The grinder is very simply to use, I put my coffee basket in the arms (which have 2 positions to adjust) and I just push the "play" button and in about 4 seconds, I have enough for a shot of espresso.

I know it's a very expensive grinder, but would say it's worth. And definitely drop by their store if you are in Calgary, the staff was very helpful. Also, you could walk next door and buy some very freshly roasted coffee beans too!

The ground coffee is fluffy and even, and the espresso comes out beautifully
