CATUR Coffee is a collaboration between So So Good Coffee Company and six processors in Indonesia, aimed at improving coffee production in the region. They use different strains of yeast to create four different flavour categories across their six processing facilities, named BUMI, SENJA, PUCUK, and KAMALA. This lot of coffee is from Bali and is processed by KARANA GLOBAL, a boutique producer/processor of Indonesian specialty coffee. They began as a micro-lot processor, focusing on improving the quality of Arabica and Robusta products from the Kintamani and Tabanan plantations. KARANA GLOBAL is committed to community education and environmental impact, training and employing locals, and is an integral member of the growth and development of CATUR Coffee. They are also leaders in coffee fermentation techniques and work closely with CATUR Coffee to improve their products.

This coffee was sourced by Forward Coffee, which collaborated with Swiss Water Decaf on this CATUR Collection, KAMALA Kintamani #01. Forward Coffee is a Canadian-based coffee importer that sources high-quality green coffee offerings, focus on transparency and aims to support and grow the Canadian specialty coffee sector. They also provide guidance to roasters to build successful operations and have established relationships with producers globally.

These beans are awesome

I agree that there were many broken beans, but they didn't appear defective and I roasted everything and it worked well. For a decaf, the flavour was impressive.

Bits and pieces

These green beans were the worst beans I’ve ever seen. Tons of broken beans and just chips in the bag. After sorting through all of them I ended up with about 5/8s of a bag. Yes the flavor was good but to lose that much to waste was ridiculous.
