Manual is the way to go!

The leverpresso stand is so essential to the operation of the leverpresso that it should be automatically included with the press.

Good accessory to have.

The stand is built well. I like that it allows me to inspect the brew process, and easily brew into a different cup. It also packs away nicely on top of the Leverpresso. It's a good accessory to have.

It's alright, flawed.

Other than allowing me to see the brewing process, I'm pretty disappointed and regretted having to pay for its price.
Firstly, the Leverpresso is catering to the stand, when it should be the other round. It does not smoothly fit when you press down the lever, you have to find the "right" tightness of the Leverpresso and position to fit into the stand nicely. Secondly, the height distance between the stand & leverpresso cup, when brewing the last bit, it splatters outside of the cup. I had to stack up the cup or replace it with another taller one to prevent that. These 2 things really annoy me everyday. Bottomline, it seems to me that the leverpresso and leverpresso stand is not design and build to work well hand in hand. Definitely not worth the money unless improved.
