  • CAFE PERFORMANCE FOR YOUR COUNTERTOP

Breaking News! The Fellow Ode has answered the prayers of the Cult of Coffee Believers. Rejoice and be glad! We've been longing for a brew grinder that will give us cafe grade performance and will look good on a countertop. What is the Ode in reference to? Itself? Fellow Believers? Let's take a closer look.

With professional-grade, 64 mm flat burrs, the Ode will give you consistent, even grounds with minimal boulders and fines. No need to worry about waking your significant other while you're trying to surprise them with breakfast in bed - the Ode is whisper quiet. AND it will auto stop once it's finished grinding - so you can focus on flipping your pancakes or pre-wetting your filter. The magnetic grounds catch is smooth, satisfying, and secure. To top it all off, there's a grounds knocker! Hallelujah! All of us burnt out baristas who miss knocking out the last bits of coffee on a Mahlkonig EK43 get to relive that satisfying experience on the Ode - leaving you with minimal grind retention.

The Ode is designed to be a single dose grinder - that means bye bye giant hopper and hello to your coffee staying fresher, longer. Fear not, the small hopper can accommodate 80g of coffee - plenty for your big batch brews. With its small footprint, thoughtful design, and premium finish, the Ode is the answer to your home grinding needs and then some. Stop doubting and start believing.

This 120V model is only compatible with outlets in the US and Canada. To find an international retailer near you, head HERE. Ode Brew Grinder is not an espresso grinder nor suitable for moka pots.

Ode Gen 1+SSP MP is a winner

I had to source the SSP MP burrs elsewhere locally, but the Eight Ounce staff was super helpful in making sure that they fit in the Gen 1 Ode grinder I bought from them. They first looked for other units in stock with a later manufacturing date, as Fellow said my unit wouldn't fit the SSP burrs. Their Ode Gen 1 stock on hand were all made around the same time (before the burr chamber was enlarged), so we tried the burr swap in store and, while it was tight, the SSP burrs fit. I've been using the Ode+SSP for drip (Kalita/Origami, Chemex, Clever) for the past month and it has been outstanding (after adjusting the zero point six clicks coarser). A big step up in clarity and sweetness from the Niche Zero I had been using for drip (and the Sette 270 I was using before that, with both burr sets, that was consistently disappointing for drip with way too many fines). The Ode Gen 1 has it's well documented quirks, including static (somewhat manageable with RDT) and bean loading into the grind chamber (pacamara is a complete nightmare). If you are thinking of swapping in other burrs, like SSP, getting the discounted Gen 1 is worth considering - it's been very positive for me so far.

Good for the $

Does a good enough job! Always a bit challenging to get all the grinds out of the grinder but after a few taps to the top of the machine it does a good enough job. Just something to keep in mind!

Nice grinder

This is a lovely grinder and I have been very happy with the performance so far. The consistency and grind quality that it offers improved my brews right away. It is messy with the grinds though, especially if you have a white version. It has a beautiufl design and aesthetic and it quite compact but be prepared to clean/brush it frequently if you wish to keep it looking sharp. Knock feature only helps a little bit. Happy enough with the machine that I will likely look to invest in some Gen 2 burrs.

Sleek, functions well.

Pros - sleek, functions well
Cons - a little messy with the coffee grounds going everywhere, the lid is not printed well - eight ounce helped me out, but some inherent issues with the lid.

Great grinder for the money

It got it's quirks, but it's a solid grinder at it's price.

if you want to avoid the quirks, get Gen 2 instead.
if you are willing to deal with static issue, and potentially upgrade to SSP burr later, then the Gen 1 is still really good value pick.

Perfect for filter

Massie upgrade on my previous grinder. Works great for filter coffee.

Solid Grinder

Purchased a few weeks ago. Very impressed. Consistent grind, no powder.
Much quieter than my previous grinder. So easy to use I'm grinding before every pot.
A taste improvement.
