Jindo Coffee - Jasmine Fields
COF-JD-0020Coffees purchased through the Ethiopian Commodity Exchange (ECX) have been pooled together in 55 physical warehouses across Ethiopia, meaning that coffees purchased have minimal traceability and therefore repeatability of qualities can be difficult year to year. Exporters also do not get to taste the coffees before purchase and rely on the grading done by the ECX to judge the quality of the lot. Considering these factors, most specialty exporters prefer to purchase directly from private farms. However, if a specialty roaster has a strong relationship with an ECX exporter, the roaster can cup purchases from the ECX and select the ones that they like, while the exporter can use the others to fill commodity contracts. This particular lot finishes with classic sweet jasmine florality combined with caramels and a gentle berry-like acidity in the body.
