    From espresso to pourover coffee preparation, the Weber Workshops EG-1 is a premier 80mm flat burr grinder for specialty coffee, now upgraded to the Mk.3 edition.

    The EG-1 Mk.3 ships standard with Weber Workshops's magnetically mounted CORE burr set, designed to be used for everything from pourover to espresso. Filter-specific ULTRA burrs may also be used with the EG-1.

    5 Micron Stepped Adjustment
    Effortlessly and precisely adjust from Turkish-fine to filter-appropriate and back again. This allows for easy switching between types and styles of coffee without the effort and and waste of cleaning a grinder and purging/redialing.

    Variable RPM
    EG-1 was the first grinder in the industry to offer variable RPM back in 2015, and it has gotten smarter and better over the years. A PID controller senses the hardness of your beans and throttles the electrons accordingly to best hit your target RPM in real time.

    Simple, Straightforward Cleaning
    The cleaning process for the EG-1 is easy. The grind chamber can be opened, thoroughly cleaned, and resealed in about 30 seconds. The top and bottom funnel caps form a clam shell grind chamber and are secured together using sets of strong rare earth (Neodymium) magnets. This is the easiest and cleanest grinder on earth, and possibly beyond.

    Purge Button
    New with Mk.3 or the EG-1, a Purge button in the center of the RPM dial has two functions. From a stop, it spins the burrs in reverse before briefly spinning them at MAX. This can dislodge foreign objects or unroasted beans that may have jammed the grinder, and purge the last granules of leftover coffee. Pushing the button while grinding gives a temporary MAX burst.

    80mm Burrs
    The EG-1 ships standard with Weber Workshops's CORE magnetically mounted burr set, designed to be used for everything from filter coffee to espresso. They are magnetically mounted, and do not have the screw holes commonly seen on disc burr setups which can be a collection point for old coffee.

    Blind Shaker
    Shaking helps to reduce static, decrease channeling, and increase extraction yield on every espresso shot. It also cleans up the workflow and keeps the powder off of the countertop. Invented by Weber Workshops, the included Blind Shaker is used by barista champions worldwide.

    Maintenance & Cleaning
    The EG-1 cleaning process is as easy as it comes. The grind chamber can be opened, thoroughly cleaned, and resealed in a matter of seconds. The top and bottom funnel caps form a clam shell grind chamber and are secured using sets of strong rare earth (Neodymium) magnets. The caps easily snap off the front of the unit, providing the barista complete and unobstructed access to the burr set and wiper system. The best part is that this deep cleaning doesn't affect grind size adjustment or burr alignment.

    The upper dosing dish has also been designed to be easily removed for cleaning. Held in place by a pair of Neodymium magnets and a set of stainless steel pins, the dish can be quickly removed from the grinder for a quick wipe down.

    At the end of the shift, in the middle, or even when changing the beans, it's fast and easy to clear the grinder of any lingering residue. Ease of cleaning offers more options for using multiples coffees in high volume environments or in other settings such as cupping rooms or roasting labs.

    Burr Alignment
    A common issue with commercial grinders is the inability to check or adjust burr alignment. In the majority of machines, burrs are buried deep inside the grinder which makes a visual or mechanical inspection impossible. Manufacturers generally don't offer adjustment mechanisms to calibrate a burr set after initial assembly. This makes it very difficult for users to align their grinders.

    Weber Workshops designed the EG-1 to make it simple to both verify and adjust burr alignment. The burr set is fully accessible in less than 20 seconds without the need for any tools. Ease of access to the burrs facilitates both regular maintenance and daily cleaning. If necessary, adjustments to alignment can be made with a 4mm metric hex key in a matter of moments without having to disassemble the grinder.

    Burr Replacement
    Weber Workshops reinvented the burr mount to make this easier to do than with any other commercial coffee grinder. With a 4mm hex tool and a spare 5 minutes, you can swap and perfectly align your EG-1 burrs.
