ABOUT THIS COFFEE
Six-time winners of the Mata de Minas contests and two time winners of Minas Gerais state contest, the Larcerda family knows a thing or two about producing great coffee. Located in Espera Feliz municipality in the Caparaó mountain range, Forquilha do Rio benefits from a unique microclimate that has become known for incredible coffee.
The family took knowledge acquired from wine production and invested in coffee production in 2009, betting big on experiments with new technologies, fermentation and different ways of processing. With a great altitude that goes from 1120 to 1422 meters, the property produces an average of 600 bags per year. Of its 21 hectares, nearly 14 are dedicated to growing the Yellow Caparaó, and Red and Yellow Catuaí varieties. This is our second time purchasing coffee from Forquilha do Rio and we’re excited to have a unique, honey-processed microlot of Yellow Catucaí varietal with notes of hazelnut, chocolate, and toffee.
