KEEN - Kainamui: Washed, Kenya (250g)
Keen highly values farmers and their hard work. So when they heard ‘New Ngariama Farmers Cooperative Society’ (FCS) provides financial support for schools and farming needs, they were at the edge of their seat. If trades do well, FCS gives back extra portions of premiums to all the farmers involved. The local community consists of about 1800 small scale farmers contributing throughout the season, creating unique and elegant lots time after time. For this coffee, the cherries undergo a process of dry fermentation. Up next they get washed and graded in channels. Next up the drying process, which takes place on raised beds. This lot consists of a blend from the varieties: ‘Ruiru 11’, ‘SL28’, ‘SL34’ and a more recent variety ‘Batian’.
