So you've got a *insert your favourite manual brew method* but you can't seem to get your coffee quite as good as those pesky uber-trendy baristas at your friendly local specialty coffee house. How do they do it - is it coffee magic? Well, maybe. But there are a range of factors that contribute to an even extraction, and this is a biggie.

This lovely kettle, from HARIO, is pretty much the standard in pouring kettles for home or cafe use. It allows you to direct the flow of the water over your coffee bed and also control the pace, ensuring you have the potential to get the most out of your coffee. This kettle is also burner-friendly, so if the feeling takes you, you can bring it to the boil like old fashioned kettles. Just don't try and heat it in the microwave.

hari hair wood gas flame pourover pour-over pour over japanese japan ketle

Customers praise this Japanese-made gooseneck kettle for its excellent pour control and beautiful design. "Perfect for making pour over coffee" with precise water flow. Works well on induction and gas stovetops. Shoppers note it takes longer to heat than expected and lacks a temperature indicator. The handle can get warm. Capacity holds 2-3 cups comfortably.

Great little kettle made in Japan

Great little kettle made in Japan. Really nice to pour with and boils great on induction.

I love this kettle. I've had it for years in the smaller size, but I decided to upgrade to the larger size. Essential for one's pour-over setup.

This kettle is a dream to use and makes pour over coffee a breeze. Plus it looks so handsome on my stovetop that I just leave it out to admire.

Sitting in a box on the prairies.

Unfortunately my review isn’t available because the kettle hasn’t arrived yet. It’s caught up in the mail strike backlog.

Perfect Kettle

Perfect kettle, high quality stainless steel, made in Japan. What’s not to love.

Sturdy and beautiful

I have multiple of these and they are very beautiful and easy to clean. They do technically hold exactly what they're listed as, but realistically they hold about 200ml less, because you never want it to be fully full when bringing it to a boil or else it makes a dangerous mess

Big Hario fan

This is a great lightweight kettle, bought to replace a heavy electric kettle. Holds more than enough water to make several cups using a pourover.

Beautiful Kettle

Bought this for my partner as a gift to replace our old and bulky electric kettle, and it’s a dream! Beautifully constructed, not too large, and induction stove compatible! Pours great, which was a major consideration as well.

Made in Japan Quality

I bought this kettle a couple of years ago now and I still love it. The quality and craftsmanship is second to none, the spout perfect for the making the morning brew and the clever handle design makes the pour easy without worrying about getting burnt (when the handle is too close). I'm a big Hario fan; and this kettle is another reason I am so!

Hario Quality Product

The build quality is great on this product, just like the other Hario products I've used. It doesn't seem like as fine pour control as the Fellow electric kettle that I have, but it will be light and durable enough for my camping in the summer.

Love the Kettle

The black mat finish is stunning and looks wonderful on my stove. I love the design and the pouring spout. It heats up quickly on my induction stove.

Excellent

Well made. I like that the spout has a good 'reach' (or angle, maybe?) so that it's not bumping up against my V60. The stream is not too turbulent at all. It allows you to pour fast or slow, but it does actually require some practice as it was harder to get a constant flow than I was used to.
I do wish it had a built in thermometer now that I have it, but that's my issue.

Simple, Elegant, Effective

This kettle does the job as advertised. Great pour from the spout. Keep in mind that is a faster pour than many other goosenecks so you'll need some practice to get it just right. Once you get the hang of it, it's perfect.
It does not have any temperature indicator, but you can easily get around that by using a quick read electronic food thermometer. I found it does take a while to heat up on my gas range, so some patience is needed. However, all that is worth the ability to fully clean the kettle without worry about electronics and the satisfaction that there are basically no points of failure.

For that perfectly aesthetic pour…

Thanks to this adorable kettle, I am finally able to get the lovely meditative pour-over experience. I was convinced to buy this kettle after watching a James Hoffman kettle review. This one had the most beautiful stream and I can tell it’s a buy-it-for-life kind of item.

A little pricey, but it works

Doing a pour over is a great experience with this kettle. The price difference between this and the original is a bit much, but it looks wonderful. Boil time was quite a bit longer than expected on the electric stovetop.

Classy and functional

Can't beat the original Hario Buono. Can confirm this is the one made in Japan. Pours effortlessly and with great control. Be aware that the plastic handle can also become warm to touch if left on the stove for a while.

Good pour, slow to heat

Well-made just takes a while to heat up, at least on a gas range.

Makes me smile when I'm making my coffee

It's a great looking kettle, made of stainless steel with a gooseneck spout that makes managing the flow of the water so easy. I've been using it every day since I received it! Plus, it's the perfect size to take along when camping in my small vintage trailer. It definitely holds enough water for a few cups of coffee at a time.

Nice Kettle!

Gorgeous looking kettle that holds just the right amount of water. Before I bought this kettle, I was sceptical of the benefits of a pour over kettle vs. a regular kitchen kettle. But WOW, what a difference this kettle makes in pouring control!

great kettle

Just as promised - my pourover coffees got really tasty and the kettle looks extra cool in my kitchen (which now looks like a trendy coffeeshop)

Amazing service and product!

So happy with this kettle! Works well, heats without the loud whistling sound (instead you see steam come through three small holes), blends nicely with my black stovetop, and is like a piece of art on the countertop.

Great kettle

Looks nice on my stove, pours really well and holds plenty of water to work well with the other V60-02 Hario stuff.
