So you've got a *insert your favourite manual brew method* but you can't seem to get your coffee quite as good as those pesky uber-trendy baristas at your friendly local specialty coffee house. How do they do it - is it coffee magic? Well, maybe. But there are a range of factors that contribute to an even extraction, and this is a biggie.

This lovely kettle, from HARIO, is pretty much the standard in pouring kettles for home or cafe use. It allows you to direct the flow of the water over your coffee bed and also control the pace, ensuring you have the potential to get the most out of your coffee. This kettle is also burner-friendly, so if the feeling takes you, you can bring it to the boil like old fashioned kettles. Just don't try and heat it in the microwave.

Beautiful Kettle

Bought this for my partner as a gift to replace our old and bulky electric kettle, and it’s a dream! Beautifully constructed, not too large, and induction stove compatible! Pours great, which was a major consideration as well.

Made in Japan Quality

I bought this kettle a couple of years ago now and I still love it. The quality and craftsmanship is second to none, the spout perfect for the making the morning brew and the clever handle design makes the pour easy without worrying about getting burnt (when the handle is too close). I'm a big Hario fan; and this kettle is another reason I am so!

Hario Quality Product

The build quality is great on this product, just like the other Hario products I've used. It doesn't seem like as fine pour control as the Fellow electric kettle that I have, but it will be light and durable enough for my camping in the summer.

Love the Kettle

The black mat finish is stunning and looks wonderful on my stove. I love the design and the pouring spout. It heats up quickly on my induction stove.

Excellent

Well made. I like that the spout has a good 'reach' (or angle, maybe?) so that it's not bumping up against my V60. The stream is not too turbulent at all. It allows you to pour fast or slow, but it does actually require some practice as it was harder to get a constant flow than I was used to.
I do wish it had a built in thermometer now that I have it, but that's my issue.

Simple, Elegant, Effective

This kettle does the job as advertised. Great pour from the spout. Keep in mind that is a faster pour than many other goosenecks so you'll need some practice to get it just right. Once you get the hang of it, it's perfect.
It does not have any temperature indicator, but you can easily get around that by using a quick read electronic food thermometer. I found it does take a while to heat up on my gas range, so some patience is needed. However, all that is worth the ability to fully clean the kettle without worry about electronics and the satisfaction that there are basically no points of failure.
